Hey guys, long story short, when I first came into this hobby I was a dumb kid and I picked whatever I wanted. I picked blood angels, and then I got some units that I later found out to be "not up to par" according to most sources.
As of now my collection consists of:
- Captain in power armour with powerfist
- Fully kitted out command squad for close combat
- Razorback with lascannon
- Techmarine with servo harness and 4 servitors with 2 heavy bolters
- Furioso with frag cannon in a drop pod (Good)
- 2 tactical squads each with a plasma gun, plasma cannon, and combi plasma on the sergeant
- Baal Predator (Good)
- Vindicator (Good)
So pretty much I've only got 3 units I want to use, and I feel the rest is overpriced junk. Now I'm kicking myself for not researching things before buying.
But in the end, I've decided to not give a gak until the new codex drops and just play small, fun games with my noobish tyranid friend.

Two other questions for any knowledgable people out there.

1. Can Blood Angels take the Stormtalon gunship? (I heard this in another thread here but I wasn't sure)

2. How much could I get for a LE: White Scars Codex, in pretty much pristine condition? (I've only opened it once or twice, it still has the dust cover and authentication slips, and the only damage is that the top of the spine is slightly compressed from USPS throwing it across the border)

Baal, Vindi, and Dread are very usable. I usually run 1 10man Tac squad with a Las RBack so they are useable. First thing you need is a Librarian for this army as HQ. Then I would buy some assault marines. You can get by with Tac marines for fun with friends but assault marines are BAs core unit. I did the same thing you did. I bought bikes and a Land Raider and Terminators with claws. Im lucky my local store takes trade ins for store credit and sells used minis. Mine were a good 10 years old so I knew nothing when I bought the either.

to answer your questions

1. No unfortunately we are stuck with just Stormravens but they are pound for pound one of the best flyers in the game.

2. I would try to get $30 or $40 for it...I know its barely used but its open..who knows try ebay. You could also try for a trade on craigs list. Say a Librarian and a squad of assault marines.

The list would be fun, that's for sure. You just would die to any AP 2.

I know that assault marines and a librarian are a good start, but I don't have enough cash to buy enough right now, so I'll just wait for the codex to drop and see what peaks my fancy.

And Glorywarrior I'm not too worried because the only person I have to play right now is my friend with tyranids, mostly with just a hive tyrant and some gaunts, so it should be a fun game. I think I may make another list like this but with death company and astorath instead.

ninjafireddragon it may just be inflated prices here in canada, but I got it off of the GW website for $115 or something. Do you think people would buy it for more than $50?

Yes. If you got it for 115 and its kind of slightly used, you could probably get $70 or even more for it.
