I'm playing a list i'm pretty used to right now where i use pie plates to blow Nids into oblivion but apparently my opponent this time is going to bring models that can vector strike my pie plating Valkyries.

My list goes as follows (2000Pt)

Lord commissar: 65

Elites: MT platoon: 275

Command team, medipack and plasma gun, Taurox prime with battle cannon and autocannons.

Scions: x4

Platoon:

Command team with standard and grenade launcher.

X2 SWT, one snipers and one flamers.

Mortar team.

X2 Veterans with lascannon and commisar.

1 Veteran team with two flamers and one melta.

Fast attack

X2 valkyrie. Armed with MRL, Lascannon and two heavy bolters.

Heavy support 315

X1 Deathstrike missile with camo netting with heavy bolter

X1 Basilisk with camo netting/heavy flamer

Quad Gun and Defence line 100 pt

I was thinking of adding calgar to the command squad or using some tau to beef up skyfire or pie plates in the form of railsides or hammerhead gunships.

I would say bring 1 or 2 vendettas or some hydras for anti air weapons.

and what do you mean with "X2 Veterans with lascannon and commisar" the combined squad rule doesn't apply to veterans or are they 2 seperate squads ?
And giving a PCS a standart is not a good idea, because your squad will probably die or take heavy casulties and it won't help much better take a heavy flamer, one mortar team isn' not the right number, take 3

And what exactly is your friend going to bring ?

If he's intending on Vector Striking your Valkyries, he's probably going to bring Hive Crones as Hive Tyrants will more than likely bring Twin Linked Devourers with BrainLeech Worms (more hits) and the Harpy isn't going to do anything against Flyers.

It's T5 with a 4+...you've already got the best defence against it in the form of the Intercepting and Skyfiring Aegis Defence Line/Quad Gun. S10 can also Instant Kill it (as well as the Harpy, the Hive Tyrant requires more work to kill with T6 and 3+).

If your opponent intends on spamming FMC, finding another Quadgun somewhere or equivalent will give you the defence you want.

Is bringing triple flyrant? 2 flyrants? Harpys?

Bring hydras along with your aegis.
