Subject: [2000] - Chaos Space Marines - CSM and CD Summoning

Trying to take a spin at summoning with CSM as the primary army. Goal is to summon two units per turn, while having some viable threats on the board such as spawn and screamers to tarpit and to take out armor. The Daemon Prince flies up summons the first group, the second group is summoned by either the herald moving up as well or the pink horrors, should he get cursed earth, Id rather not risk him perilling so more often the horrors will summon the second group. The grimoire goes on the screamers or the grinder, and on the turns the prince returns from reserves after flying off, he might get the grim depending on cover. Obliterators are for DS and removing specific vehicles or other threats, unfortunately couldn't get them into 2 groups of 3 due to points. Regular CSM squads of 5 over cheaper cultists for more reliable objective secured.
As always comments and criticism are appreciated.

Maybe consider going MoN for the prince? That 2+ jink cover is really awesome.

true, but then he has slow and purposeful and thus can't run his 2d6 in the shooting phase after summoning. No running means he may be in the open or unable to leave combat airspace.

Can the CSM DP take Malefic without the mark tax? I thought they would be unfocused and lose on the Primaris power

They are swooping, but there movement is categorized as a run in the BRB with a maximum distance of 2D6 when swooping.

Daemon Princes are required to upgrade to take a Daemon of whatever god you choose.
Sillycybin wrote:Why take a mark of tzeentch and armor? You only need the MoT, also its a flying monstrous creature you get jink saves.
Your also going to need more then 2 ML3 psykers if you want to summon 2 units per turn. As in you would need to roll hits on all your warp charges each turn and hope that the enemy has no psykers.
You take Daemon of Tzeentch to get re'rolls of ones on a Daemon prince, and armor is standard. A 3+ Armor with re-rolls of 1 is better than jinking for a 4+ against low Ap weapons such as autocannons.
Also I have 10 warp charges including the pink horrors. Only need 5 dice on the Daemon Prince with who has a familiar for a 75% chance at summoning, the rest including the D6 go to the other, which I only need a 2 on the D6 to get 7 which gets me a decent chance.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I might drop the CSM squads for cultists and the Grinder since it doesn't work as well without a 2nd or 3rd one.

Summoning is the flavor of the month, and I can never support lists like that because I don't view the game the way you do.
That said, people have spoken out against this list as of late saying its results are not as spectacular as you might imagine. You're paying a lot of points for magic which you are not using to cast witchfires but to summon frankly fragile squads.
I'd go for DoN on the grinder for a 2+ cover save, which is better than a 4+ rerolling 1s
