Event Horizon Games, Garner (Raleigh) NC. 13th September 2014. Team Tournament.

Event Horizon Games is hosting a random-pairing team tournament on September 13th. This is an opportunity to break out a force of your favorite models and get some fun games in with other gamers.
The format will be as follows:
Date: 13th September
Start Time: Registration at 9am, Round 1 starts at 10am
Battleforged Armies only
1000 points per player
1 detachment per player
No Lords of War
Fortifications are allowed from the following list: Aegis Defence Line, Imperial Bastion, Honored Imperium, Wall of Martyrs (WoM) Imperial Defence Line, WoM Imperial Defence Emplacement, WoM Imperial Bunker, WoM Firestorm Redoubt, WoM Vengeance Weapon Battery, Skyshield Landing Pad.
All armies are considered ‘Allies of Convenience’ with their partner’s army for the game.
$10 entry fee per player – all fees go towards prize support

You will have a partner randomly selected for you each round (no repeats), and you’ll have an extra 5 minutes at the start of each round to discuss with your partner about your armies and strategies.

If you win a round you will get given 3 raffle tickets, a draw gets you 2, and losing still gets you 1 ticket. At the end of the third round tickets will be randomly drawn for prizes. The ticket holder will need to be present to win the prize, absentee tickets will be redrawn.
If turnout permits, additional prizes will be awarded for special occurrences, best team names, and/or other categories.

Tournament missions will be using the 7th edition version of the standard EHG tournament missions.

Yes, this is not intended as a heavy-duty competitive event – we’re running this to give an opportunity to players to meet up and socialize as well as getting some games in.

Registration can be done by replying on this board, by contacting me through PM, or by contacting Event Horizon Games:

Three questions:

1) Can you confirm the september 13th date? I can't find anything on your website or facebook calendars for that date. Is the date a mistake or has it just not been added to the calendar yet?

2) Are you using the standard 40k rules for what armies/units are legal, or do you have your own house rules (for example, no FW, limits on copies of "overpowered" units, etc)?

3) How strictly do you enforce WYSIWYG and painting?

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
