Hi, My Wife has somehow been loosing badly with her Eldar, she was running Illic with 10 Pathfinders, which I think might not have helped matters, this is my suggested list for her, we've not got buckets of money, but we could spend a bit to get her something competitive

HQ - Farseer with Singing Spear

Troops - 10 Guardians with a Brightlance

Dedicated transport - Wave Serpent with twinlinked Scatter Laser and Shuriken Cannon

Troops - 10 Guardians with a Brightlance

Dedicated transport - Wave Serpent with twinlinked Scatter Laser and Shuriken Cannon

Troops - 5 Rangers

Troops - 5 Rangers

Elites - 6 Fire Dragons inc Fire Pike Exarch with fastshot

Dedicated transport - Wave Serpent with twinlinked Scatter Laser and Shuriken Cannon

Elite - 6 Banshees inc Exarch with Executioner and Fear

Fast Attack - 5 Warp Spiders inc Exarch with Powerblades, Twinlinked Death Spinner and Fastshot

Heavy Support - Fire Prism

Heavy Support - Fire Prism

tactics would be to either gunline, or serpent rush dependent on enemy, use the rangers to snipe any big tough things, and the prisms as the main anti tank (supported by the fire dragons) banshees either run up behind a serpent, borrow a guardian serpent, or are used as a counter charging unit in a gunline

I think the list has plenty of anti infantry, and enough anti tank, plus with 3 serpents should be ok against flyers

any comments?

The list is not terrible, but it depends on how competitive of an environment you are playing in.

Farseers are good, but remember you can't cast powers from the transport. Could always start the guardians on foot so the banshees can hijack their serpent, or just buy it for the banshees. Guardians in a blob of 20 work well, and they can buy the serpent empty. Then the banshees get the extra serpent.

Rangers are not great unless there are a ton of MC's, and even then they are meh damage output. They can be decent outflanking though. I would probably stick to a single unit.

Fragons don't need an exarch; 5 melta guns can usually kill their target. A 6th dragon costs a bit more than exarch+fast shot, but drop the firepike.

Banshees....are just bad. You need to max them out if you want them to survive and make it to combat, as they can't assault from the serpent. On foot they fare even worse though...

Drop powerblades from the spider exarch, and maybe drop the exarch. Just take more spiders

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Ok, with the points lost from dropping banshees and a ranger squad, maybe I should get another farseer?

Thought about having two warlocks for conceal on the guardian squads

Would like to keep fire pike fragon as we have a few stompa's in our meta, and they all run multi meks inside with grot riggers so if you don't kill it in one turn, it tends to heal up

Will drop the blades too

Hi All,

thanks for all the suggestions, (put this list together before the warwalker suggestion...will look into them)

Suggested List is this...

HQ - Farseer with Singing Spear (Poss in with Guardian Squad)

HQ - Farseer with Singing Spear (Poss in with Guardian Squad)

Warlock Council - 2 Warlocks with Singing Spears (one for each Guardian Squad

Troops - Guardians (10) with a Brightlance
Dedicated Transport - Wave Serpent with Twinlinked Scatter and Shuriken Cannon

Troops - Guardians (10) with a Brightlance
Dedicated Transport - Wave Serpent with Twinlinked Scatter and Shuriken Cannon

Troops - 5 Rangers

Elite - 6 Fire Dragons inc Exarch with Firepike and Fastshot
Dedicated Transport - Wave Serpent with Twinlinked Scatter and Shuriken Cannon

Fast Attack - 5 Warp Spiders inc Exarch with twinlinked death spinner and Fastshot

Heavy Support - Fire Prism

Heavy Support - Fire Prism

that should give her anti infantry, anti MC, Anti Tank and Anti IWND Superheavy...plus serpent shields for the anti flyer...

i think this should work...any comments?

Well, I'd mount the Farseer on a jetbike. With guide or prescience she could improve the shooting of the FD's or Spiders.
The brightlances for the Guardians are a waste. Hangning back babysitting a brightlance is a misconception. These poets and philosophers should go up and persional shooting their shurican weapons. Exarchs are only needed for Warp Spiders and Swooping Hawks. All other aspects do not need them.

I'm going to agree to get rid of the bright lances on the Guardians. This set up could be very powerful in close range, BUT, a Wave Serpent only has a 12 man capacity, Guardians+gun+warlock is 12 so the Seers are walking. You'd be better off ditching the Exarchs, Rangers and shifting the lances to Cannons to try to add some jetbikes and some for your seers as well.

Also farseers cant cast their powers in the transport, so I would strongly recommend a mantle seer.

Like above, I recommend dropping bright lance but mostly its because thats 40 points to waste a squads shooting (as the rest of the guardians cant hurt armor) and is only 2 strength 8 shots. With the points saved, get holo fields on your serpents.

I would also recommend droping upgrades from fragon exarch

Well, Eldar is not an army that loses games at the moment.
I'd drop the Prisms since their damage output is bit questionable.
I'd go for a stock Wraithknight who is able to protect the Serpents a bit, and 3 Warwalkers as said above.

This is good. Fire prisms are worse than ok as anti tank, and eldar has enough anti meq.
