Hi all. So I have done one of the "don't do that!!" things and bought a whole Eldar / Dark Eldar army. I've accumulated a lot of Elf parts and have some cool fluff worked out for the army. Got the final bits of painting to complete on my current army and then I can get cracking on all the kitbashing and modelling (my favourite part of the hobby). However, one part of the project has me stumped. How do I make the dangerous end of Eldar weaponary look harmful?

I guess the idea is that the holes in te gun barrels for Shuriken weaponary are so fine that they are not visible to the human eye, but to me they just look a bit blunt and impotent.

So does anyone have any cool ideas/tricks/tips for making Eldar weapons (especially Shuriken stuff) Deadly? Pics/links gratefully enjoyed.

Well i've never never tried altering the shuriken stuff at all but maybe try to work in some blades in there? Also what elf parts do you have?

Lovely shiny eldars!

Gone-to-ground in the craters of Coventry

Put a line of white/bright across where the shuriken would eject from the barrel.
Add a bit of a glow along the top or sides, to represent the railgun-type accelerator system in the gun.

I've not done it, as I'm lazy and finish far before that bit, so no pics.

Maybe take an exacto knife to the tip of the barrel and score a line across it or notch it. Hit it with a darker wash to show the recess once it is painted.

Some good thoughts there.

I've just bought a couple of boxes of wood elf guard and lots of elf/dark elf/eldar/dark eldar heads from bits stockists.

I don't like the Dire Avenger models, but I will give them a kind of Dark Elf guard feel.

The fluff for my army is that they are a secret Eldar/Dark Eldar alliance dedicated to filling the Infinity Circuits with souls in order to bring about the coming of Ynnead. They are Eldar-Slaying-Eldar on a mission from God.
