I'm just wondering if heavy bolters sponsors are worth it on vendettas in 7th edition?

I've never seen the point in these.
If the weapons on a vehicle have to shoot the same target, side-facing weapons are a waste.
There's a slim chance you get a stray shot on something squishy while you're banking around, but not often.
So, no, I don't think they're worth it.

Also, the new IG Codex jacked up the price of Valk and Vendetta heavy bolter sponsons. However, for some reason the Militarum Tempestus' valks' heavy bolters are still the same cheap price (you pay the cost of a meltagun for 2 heavy bolters). That's a good deal considering that heavy bolters synergize well with the Valks' missile pods and multi-laser.

So if you want to field a reasonably-priced pair of HBs on your valk take MT allies for your guard and put one of your scion squads in the MT valk. It's a nice way to add mobility and fire-power to an IG list. My IG army sometimes takes an MT detachment consisting of:
-Valk
-scion command squad w/ 5 troopers and 4 meltaguns
-scion squad w/ 5 troopers and 2 meltaguns.
This is pricey--it costs the same as 36 meltaguns. But it really improve my IG's anti-infantry and anti-tank firepower. I just love using the command squad's twin-linking order! It's like the old bring-it-down order in that it twin-links the scion squad's shooting.

Not worth it. A single HB (all you can usually get in arc) isn't very effective against the things you want to be shooting lascannons at, and even if you could get both of them in arc you can't fire them both at full BS. Maybe if you're down to your last few m

Can we please stop doing this? Point costs aren't copyrighted material, and if they somehow were you wouldn't be avoiding any problems by giving it in terms of something everyone knows. The point costs are 10 for the HB sponsons and 360 for your super-unit.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
