In terms of the build, that leg sticking out without a pedal or something really bugs me. I wish you could build a little platform for under his feet. Otherwise the build is pretty zany and awesome. I think you could do a lot more on the paintjob though. I'm not sure how complete the paint job is?
Is the wheel going to stay silver? The problem with the Doomwheel is that the pattern of the model looks very "Wood" so I don't think you can get away with painting it metallic. I think you either need to paint it like it's wood, or at best, shave off the studs, and put slats of plastic card down and make it look more like a tank tread. That'd be a lot of work though.
The Doom Wheel crystals also don't look very good painted yellow like that. Pick a color for all the crystals, including the Eldar one, and paint them all that. Green or Red would probably look good. Look for some painting tutorials on how to paint crystals if you're unsure. But basically just doing a medium green over the crystals and then painting the edges with a very light green or a white should be good.
I'd also like the engine exhaust stacks to be much darker, maybe even paint it black with a light drybrush of metallic. It looks too bright right now.
Awesome job on the chipping and rust effects of the yellow. I think the pilot looks good too.
It is indeed still a
wip, all the things you mentioned will be changing.
i agree about the footpedal, mostly an oversight as it all comes apart to paint easier and i overlooked that when moving from modelling to painting. the doomwheel will recieve quite a lot of brown pigments for mud etc, along with some more preshading, it will almost be impossible to see that it should be wood once finished.
currently not sure on crystal colour myself, i also thought green, wasnt sure whether to go for a
osl style look, or a more brush with lightning style.
as for the engine stacks i am going to do some oil washes for the metals to darken them up, so far they have only recieved a sepia wash.
Thank you for the comment about the chipping. i used a sponge, which is an effect i havent tried yet, but
tbh its reasonably easy and the results are amazing for what effort you have to put in. looking forward to applying it to future models
