One of the vets will let you know soon, i'm sure, but I think for Qapu Khalqi you will want some Hafza. They aren't the most inspiring minis or profiles, but they can join link teams of most/all of the linkable troops in QK. Their holoprojector lets them masquerade as whatever they're linked with(or anything else in the QK list) until they start acting. I think they're especially good for using with Janissaries, since you can get all of the meaty stats from the Janissary taking the action, with bonuses from a large link team, without paying as many points. And you could also take some stubs, 2-3 Janissary, 2-3 kaplans or odalisques, a few hafza, and then fill out whichever link is going to be more useful in a given game.

Another thing I'm sure will be brought up... Link team in your first game? Sounds a bit overly complicated to learn to start.

Otherwise... the Sekban are reasonably tough, you'll probably want to get them somewhere defensible and hole up. I think you may be slightly out-numbered, I doubt your opponent will necessarily bring 10 bodies to 150 points, but all of the starter sets come with 6 so I'd expect that many or more.
