Hey everyone,
I have been away from 40k for a while as I've been playing fantasy pretty much exclusively for a while. I have still been following releases and such for 40k but just never picked up the new rulebook....until now.

I have given it a quick read and it doesn't seem all that drastically different. The new pyschic phase is very nice though since I like magic in fantasy lol

Just wanted to know if there are any huge rule changes for a normal game that I should be aware of?
Movement seems the same, shooting the same close combat etc.
Thanks! Sorry for such a broad question just going to be playing a game today so want to make sure I don't miss anything lol

Check out Jink, Smash attacks, and challenges. Precision Shots is now a USR and characters no longer have it. The vehicle damage table is different. The new detachment rules are fairly complex (but mostly irrelevant if you're doing a standard FOC...do take note of Objective Secured though) and terrain got kind of dumbed down. That's the major differences I can think of off the top of my head.

over there

You forgot the biggest game changer, the psychic phase.

The west is on its death spiral.

It was a good run.

He mentioned the psychic phase in his post, so I didn't feel the need to repeat it.

Ooh, I've checked on them and they are correct.

Only one mistake that everyone seems to forget: Cover, invulnerable AND Armour Saves can be taken against Destroyer-weapons.
Is that important? Yes, because I have a SD, AP- attack.

Other stuff only mentioned in the links (I didn't open them):
Focused Fire is out,
Allies changes allow transport sharing.
Shooting is done per gun-type once you've chosen a unit to shoot.
Buildings are now vehicles (sort-of).

I think there's a plethora of subtle changes that makes the game feel new while remaining familiar.

only big change is the psychic phase and the new psychic discipline.

Now I'm not saying small changes don't have a big impact on the way the game's played.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness.
