Who is dissapointed with the new GW templates for warhammer 40k? I like the old ones better. They were more sturdy and you could see through them easier. The new ones seem cheap and fragil

The grey ones? Those are pretty flexible. And good.

I dont think templates should be flexible. If flexible they can get warped and distorted. I like my solid green plastic ones.

Does it matter? I don't really see any difference the new template will bring.

Each time they change the plastic they are using, the templates change size very slightly.

I like the green ones the best. The silver with lightning effects ones are cumbersome and gaudy, and harder to use.

The green ones work best but the silver ones are the prettiest.

No really, anything is better than using the template from the 3rd edition book and cutting out cardboard templates. The gray plastic is an incredible improvement.

er okay? That was like 15 years ago.. time to move on! It's not revelant to the discussion between plastic templates. Plastic templates existed in 3rd ed btw.

I don't like the solid rim ones. The transparent ones are the best. With the silver ones you constantly have to argue if a model is cliped or not.

I like my green ones. The silver with the lightning look incredibly ridiculous, and the grey look and feel very cheap. Nothing wrong with their usability, though.

They are such an inexact science with your having to hold it a bit above all your mens and sort of try not to move while trying to see from the exact top down.

I wish I could think of some reliable way to use laser pointers to build something that projects a circle of the right size without costing stupid money. One idea has been to use a circular lens to spread it and mount it in a rigging so that it is at the right height from the table to make the circle the right size, but I find the rigging would be in the way in order for it to be able to hold it correctly.

I really prefer my omni tool from GSI

You could always give Tap Plastics, or any other plastics fabrication shop that accepts small/limited run orders, a call and have them design one to your tastes.

Might cost a bit, but it would be unique and fitting to your particular tastes.

Or you can trawl Ebay hoping to find an old one.

I like the green ones. They are best ones. Other ones are posers.
