I was hesitant to post a link to yet another terrain KS, but this may be of interest to Heroscape and Battletech players:

That is a high goal.
It would be awesome for Battletech games, though. Especially painted up a bit to make it look less cartoony.

Yea...this does not excite me. I don't think I'd want to play a TT wargame on terrain like that. The concept is interesting, but it is really abstract in terms of wargaming terrain. It seems more suitable to a board game or a purposefully designed game to take advantage of the terrain.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

If they made them square the scenery tiles would be excellent for Super Dungeon Explore.

There aren't a lot of things table top that uses hexes anymore (Battletech & Heroquest). Most games I'm familiar with either use a tile system or measure with a ruler to provide more versatility to terrain. The goal is a large goal which I'm not sure why it is so high. It sounds like they print the pieces 3D printed and then cast them in resin, so they shouldn't need such a large goal.
The hex system template isn't bad but it is limited but because of the hexes it seems limited. They could of gone both directions by using the hex system to lay a groundwork, then had a larger flat panel that would lay on top. That larger panel could of been grid based or simply just flat terrain that lets you then use the terrain pieces like trees, etc... Then they wouldn't be so limited in their market.

I'd be more interested if they were Squares, then it'd be perfect for Endless: Fantasy Tactics or RPGs.

There used to be a boxed game that was basically that sort of set up.
The name escapes me, but I recall seeing it in Toys are Us.
True story.

You're thinking of Heroscape. Heroscape still has an incredibly huge following and these tiles are meant to be the expansion for those sets.
Heroscape was designed by Stephen Baker, who also designed Hero Quest, Battle Masters, Space Crusade, and many others; and was very popular for about 6-7 years. It's terrain tiles are still highly sought after for lots of applications (including Battletech).

That's nice looking stuff, but like many others have said, hexes have limited use these days outside of very specific games.
I like those trees and the waterfall. If I had enough Heroscape pieces to make that kind of board, I'd consider it actually, but my collection these days is very meager.

Very nice! I don't play any hex games anymore but these would have been cool when we did use them.
Might have use as a campaign tracker as an overall map system much like the GW tiles.

Its just WAY too cartooney.. I wouldn't put my painted stuff on that crap. It would completely take away the time i've put into my models.
Looks like stuff I would buy my daughter to play with.
Good luck to them anyway.

The fact you personally don't like it doesn't make it "crap", so why not think about a more measured way to state a negative opinion?

It was an opinion. And its mine. I've seen far worse on here with less critique (or a dress down). It even warranted a colored font it appears. I don't keyboard bash, so before you take your tone, find a measured way to gauge your feelings. Thanks.
