Hello everyone, recently I was told that the new Space Wolf Codex has Drop Pods in the Fast Attack Slot, I was wondering if you guys could verify if this is true or not? Thanks!

Not just Drop Pods, but everything else which would normally be Dedicated as well....
I still wonders if it was a mistake.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Which doesn't make sense because unless it's dedicated you can't start a unit in a transport can you?

ADD causes my posts to ramble from time to time. Please bear with me.

Yes this is true, both the Ork and Space Wolf codex's have all their dedicated transport options available as a unit on its own within an FOC slot.

It's reasonable safe to assume (as far as anything is) that this will be a trend going forward.

The speculated reason for this is it allows the transport vehicle to be taken in unbound lists. The idea of unbound being you can take any model in your collection but you normally can't take dedicated transports without taking the unit. Now you can, yay?

It's normally not a problem as you can switch out transports early in the game but with the abilities a drop pod issues to units that normally don't have access to it I'm not a fan. I suspect the space wolves are about to start a taxi company on tournament tables everywhere :-/

Yes you can. The problem dedicated had was that only the unit that the dedicated transport was bought for could start in it.

Being a Fast Attack slot without the "Dedicated Transport" rule means according to Unbound armies and Battle Brothers I could put Scions inside Drop Pods

19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.
