Hey guys, can someone help me understand what happens if I bring a lord of war against my opponent? Like ghazghkull thraka?

What sort of benefits does my opponent get? What are the drawbacks to bringing a lord of war?

In escalation, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong)
my opponent gainst a +1 modifier to his seize the initiative
gains a victory point for every 3 wounds caused against Ghazghkull
And gets to choose to roll on the escalation warlord trait.

I was talking to a buddy who said that only applies if your playing escalation missions not just regular 7th edition.

I've been reading 7th edition trying to see if it says anywhere to refer to escalation, or if there are other drawbacks to bringing a lord of war.

Can someone point me in the right direction? What are the negatives of bringing a lord of war with my army?

Your buddy is right. LOW have no specific benefit to the opponent outside of escalation

Those bonuses now only apply if you're playing the Escalation missions.

It has the rules for a bunch of the units that are LoW (such as the baneblade)

yeah but I only plan on using ghazghkull and maybe someday a Stompa both of them are in the new codex. So I'll make my opponent bring it if he/she wants to use a Lord of War

In that case you don't need Escalation at all
