Currently in the progress of making a semi-competitive list to play against some friends, not tailoring to a specific army, just something that will work generally.

Here's what I have so far

HQ
Overlord (145) (Attached to Lychguard)
-Warscythe
-Res Orb
-MSS

Royal Court (60) (Attached to Lychguard)
-1 Despairtek (VoD)

Elites

5 Lychguard (225)
-Hyperphase Sword
-Dispersion Shields

5 Deathmarks (95)

Troops

10 Warriors + Ghost Ark

10 Warriors + Ghost Ark

Fast Attack

3 Canoptek Wraiths (125)
-2 Whip Coils

Heavy Support

Annihilation Barge (90)

Annihilation Barge (90)

Doomsday Ark/Scythe (175)

TOTAL: (1495)

My idea is to advance up the board towards objectives and hunker down with the warriors, with the arks providing fire support/repair. Then the other parts of my army (namely the lychguard, wraiths and deathmarks) will deep strike behind my opponent, making him fight on two fronts.

The Lych/Overlord/Despairtek combo is pretty obvious, drop them behind enemy lines and engage with something big because of the power weapons and 3+/4++/4+++ on the lychguard, this has worked wonders for me on numerous games so I'd like to keep this. I've also tried a lightning field instead of a despairTek which was.. interesting.

The wraiths are there to intercept my opponent taking objectives, or to just be plain annoying to infantry.

I used an anni barge before and decided it was so good that I wanted two! Just for the additonal firepower against infantry.

Deathmarks sound decent on paper, but haven't had the chance to field them just yet.

As for the doomsday ark/scythe I'm leaning more towards the scythe as the ark loses a lot of its potential if it needs repositioning, and although the scythe is lightly armoured, it will be useful against TEQ/vehicles.

At first I thought I might not have enough troops but after finally getting hold of 7th edition the other day (I know it's been out 3 months, only recently got enough cash) I'm not so sure now. I haven't played tactical objectives yet so have no idea how I would fair against different styles of armies..

Thoughts? Suggestions? Rip this apart as much as you like

EDIT- just thought I'd mention, I've used all parts of this so far except for the Doom Scythe and the Deathmarks, I've heardvery mixed opinions on both units..

You should run the Doom scythe with such a mobile army like yours. If your hellbent on keeping the lychguard then go ahead, I would swap them for 10 Immortals. You can then use the points toward a sempiternal weave and a phase shifter.

I like this list a lot. It's a lot more unique compared to what I've seen on here. Not to mention, it's awesome Lychguard are working for you. I personally haven't had any luck haha.

Anyway, there's only a few minor things I'd like to mention. I would really get at least a Semp Weave on the Overlord as it will increase his longevity against non-AP2 weapons considerably. It's probably worth dropping a Warrior to get it. Alternatively, get him a Phase Shifter. O.Lords are really vulnerable to high initiative units without that extra layer of protection from either the Weave or Shifter if they pass MSS.

It also may be worth dropping the Wraiths for Scarabs. Wraiths in small units are going to be fairly easy to pick off (at least in my experience have been), while Scarabs are more easily hidden and have an easier time sneaking around. At the very least drop the coils. They really won't help too much in a unit that size. Most things Wraiths are afraid of in CC are either going at the same initiative, or afterwards. You could then use those points for a Semp Weave on the O.Lord and increase his longevity significantly.

Agree withKelCJ pretty much.

Alternitively, you could drop the Doomsday Ark instead, it looks like it's going to get left behind while the rest of the Army advances up making it easy to pick off. I find they need to be taken in pairs to be effective.

175 points will give you 5 Wraiths, so adding three more would take your spare points to 100. You could easily add in some Scarab Swarms, five bases should do quite nicely, for 75 points. This will also give you some Anti-Tank, which I felt your list missed. The remaining 25 points could be spent on a Sempiternal Weave and another Whip Coil. This allows your Overlord to tank hits with a 2+.

My only other suggestions would be to try and find points for a Nightscythe and a DespairTek for the Deathmarks as S8 AP1 Flamers that wound on a 2 are awesome, but I wouldn't recommend it if its going to be your only Flyer...again you need more than one to make the most of them. If you can't, then I wouldn't run them, they lack that punch without the DespairTek. You could probably field two LanceTeks instead, or another unit of Scarabs and create target saturation with the Scarabs. If going down this route, points for a Canoptek Spyder or two wouldn't go amiss.
