The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

Edited to sub in better photos. I hate how they look in these photos, but in real life I love them.

The photos are a bit crappy. I think I need to re-do with a decent camera, as I had to use my camera phone for this... There are a few tiny details to do, like the ball the runners are carrying, and flesh on the runners' arms. Otherwise, it is pretty much done.

It is a heavy highlight of hawk turquoise directly onto black, then a light drybrush of 50/50 hawk turquoise and white. Next was a line-highlight of the 50/50 stuff, followed by a thinner line highlight of 75/25, then a very little bit of pure white line highlight.

Building a blood in water scent

Blood Bowl! Classic Blood Bowl! Huzzah!

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

So, I got some ogres for ArbitorIan in the DCM Secret Santa...

Here is the first of them. He plays for Bayern Mournfang. I call him Thomas Mauler.

(I wonder, if a mod sees this, could they please move it to Blogs? I want to keep my Blood Bowl stuff in one place instead of having many threads.

The ruins of the Palace of Thorns

I've been talked into taking over from someone who pulled out of HATE Club's Stenchbrew competition I'll be playing orcs. I built these guys from Kromlech bodies with Puppetswar heads. There are a few bits of GW in there too. The big guy with the Black Orcs is for if one of them gets a +1 Str. The big guy with the blitzers is for the same. I'n hoping for a repeat of something that happened before - getting a blitzer with +1 Str and some thrower skills. I don't use trolls, nor a thrower. Throwers are too slow for the way I think orcs should play, and although I do throw the ball, it is normally only quick and short passes, and only a few per game, so expert throwers are unnecessary. I'll get one or two gobbos art some stage, I expect.

By the way, are the models for each position clear enough, do you think? The black orcs have larger bases, and an extra 2mm from increasing the base height and building platforms into their shoes. I'll also be building in some differences into how I paint them, and putting face grills onto the blitzers at least.
