I've got a friend who loves spamming my hordes with blast templates. He's got tanks, mortars, sentinels, and an extremely annoying Master of Ordnance that I made the mistake of getting him for his birthday. Part of my problem is that the units I'd like to use against him are fairly expensive, and in the 650 pt games we've played recently he's been able to drop enough footsloggers to make an Ork proud.

Now, Orks don't cry for help, but I'm curious how the rest of y'all have brought the Waaagh! to the puny Umies. Thanks!

In short, you dont, you could try a slingshot bunker but he seems to be playing his army correctly.

Try to gun for his orders units. And for petes sake dont try to outshoot him.

KFF Brah. if your opponent wants to stand and shoot, bring a 5++ invul for your Boyz. Toss in Painboy for some dirty, dirty goodness.

dont try to outshoot an ig player, if he has any idea of what he is doing he will be able to outshoot you. His sentinels will wreck your backfield.

Koptas are still good options. They can come in uncomfortably close when coming off reserves, can either pop tanks with TL Rokkits, or they can dish out some shots with TL Big shootas to mop up some infantry. They are still T5, 2W models with Jinking capabilities. They may get shot up, but if they have to waste a few squads worth of shooting to deal with a few squads of Kopters, it's getting attention off his other stuff in the meantime.

As a guard player, I also wouldn't recommend tryingvto outshoot him as well. The KFF and painboy sounds nasty from what little I know of orks. T5 and up is generally a pain in the backside for my ig, so that sounds good too. If your going to try to assault his blobs be sure he's not bringing a priest, or you'll be bogged down forever, or worse case scenario you might actually lose!

It's possible to outshoot a guard player but it's not very likely, however you DO need long ranged support nonetheless. What i'd recommend (and what worked for me) is mek gunz and rokkit buggies to support your advancing force.

A battery of lobbas is devastating against IG. They put big dents even in 2' spread infantry squads, can snipe out important characters and specialists and what's also very important - they're the only thing that can stop his wiverns from obliterating your boyz early on. S5 barrage blasts will hit armor 10 and wiverns are open-topped iirc.

Rokkit buggies are immune to lazguns, are super-cheap and can go for his low-armored tanks and can even hurt side armor of his leman russes. They're also a moving blos for your bikers or boyz.
