It's taken a while but I finally finished the whole list this afternoon. My wife had a real idea of what she wanted and put me to work

The Golden Baba's are basically Dark Angels, so the models, and codex are the same however they have a real nice back story that I won't go into too much other than they were never meant to see battle, and primarily are keepers of the emperors artefacts and antiquities. But something of incredible value was taken, and out they rolled.
She originally wanted me to do them in pristine shimmering gold, with well buffed armour and so forth but I'm always one for battle damaged and smoke stained models so I talked her round. Anyway, hope you like the regal gold and purple colour scheme!

I know these photos don't do the work too much justice as I took them with an iPhone, and they're not the best thing you'll ever see - but I'm proud of them and wanted to see what you guys thought!
There's a load of models from Dark Vengeance in there (a starter set that really came in handy when we started putting this list together)

She likes to have things that are a little different on the table, so I tried to kit bash the vehicles as much as I could with 40k, dust tactics, and WW2 kits on the land raiders and rhinos. I'm most proud of the land raider. One dude I showed at club totally didn't get it but I'm so into it and plan to do more in the same vain for my own SM chapters!
I've not put the whole army up here, just the more colourful of models. I've left out most of the marines, and 2 devastator squads because the photos really looked terrible...I need to get a proper camera

I popped a log on the side of the land raider in old school tank style in case they got stuck in mud (as if SM's would have that problem - but it was just for fun!)

Real happy with the power weapons as well...I usually balls up that effect but this don't look all too bad
Luckily she's not to into the way bikes work tactically as I didn't enjoy painting these fellows from DV all too much...although I love their poses!

I know it's pretty sacrilegious but I even made the Chaplin gold....

But couldn't bring myself to paint the Librarian anything other than blue

Again sorry for the image quality!

The VD was the funnest thing to paint. Tactically I don't use them but my better half seems to be able to blob my DE with this guys plasma cannon no matter what I do!

Any I finished this little guy just an hour ago! So finally I can get on with working on Space Hulk! Something I've been putting off for a while

I'm an okay painter, and I'm not here showing off, I just feel I did an okay job so wanted to get some feedback
Anyway, hope some of you like my interpretation of my good lady wife's idea for a chapter, and hopefully some of you might get inspired to go off script with a colour scheme of your own!

Looks like you've gone a little overboard with the mud on the Land Raider and Rhino but the painting looks great
