So as you die hard Thousand Son fans may know each of the cult leaders of the Thousand Sons had a Tutelary or guardian or spell familiar.

Spoiler:
Most of the Tutelary's died with their masters during the burning of Prospero, but what is the state of Ahriman's, named Aaetpio?

Is it still watching over him? Anyone find any mention of it past the Burning of Prospero?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Hell if anyone even knows anything about these Tutelarys I'd settle for that. Are they daemons? How long have they been around? Are they like spell familiars? Guardian angels?

They seem really interesting but were only just touched on from what I've seen.

The Tutelarys were demons, and part of the long term plan to corrupt and control the chapter. They played at being helpful and offering advice but when the time came drove the Tsons to madness and mutation. I suspect if Ahriman kept his around it had a much more controlled role.

Yes, Tutelaries are still around in 40k - they're another name for Spell Familiars, according to the 4e Chaos codex.

Ahriman's, though? I would presume he cut it loose or destroyed it when he went rogue, or perhaps it was consumed when he cast the Rubric. He doesn't have it in Exile, that's for certain.

The deal with tutelaries is that at the burning of prospero, and co morbid with the flesh change resuming, the tutelaries became feral and some of them managed to eat their masters.

I suppose so. I read Exile and it wasn't ever mentioned, suppose its important enough that if it was still there it would have been mentioned.
