My FLGS is having a league that is 7ed as written so unbound is allowed. And frankly I think it would be a funny list will be to take of only VWBs. I'm planning on taking be'lakor as the only actual unit in my army (since he has Invis and shrouding, can fly, and good in combat if he needs to) and so I don't count as table on turn 1. I guess my question is would this be somewhat viable and should I mix weapons or just stick with battle cannons.

I suspect it might be a bit rock-paper-scissors. But certainly entertaining, and would have novelty value. Although would you ever use it again? If not, seems rather expensive.

I presume you're not going to buy dozens of VWBs? I've converted a couple myself from the bits box, but it's not a five minute job.

It's gona be a 1-way battle cause all your impact will end as soon as deployment is done.

Its a list me and a friend thought up back when 7th first came out.

Ours was either draigo or Lysander sitting inside a bunker with a quad gun and then 8 battlecannons and 6 Icarus lazcannon batteries. pretty fun list, though hard to get anyone to agree to go up againgst it.

I say mix them up. then place at least 3 around each objective you place.

Deathwing and Sanguinary guard armies will cause you trouble (although these aren't exactly common), as will lots of MC's.
Serp spam will gut you, especially with wraithknight support.

Should demolish most armies though.

Necrons will ruin your day.

I'm thinking ~20 battlecannons should be able to take care of a vast majority of armies. Of course, then they just stick a riptide or dredknight and your army is useless, but it would be funny.

My suggestion would be to take the FW tarantula turret in addition to the Vengence batteries. Take the TL lascannon variant and just set them to fire archs to take out those pesky 2+ save models. You can throw in a few other variants for fun and to have more things to deal with. Keeps the theme of a fully automated defense, but is much more effective.
