So to be short i might be getting satelite internet soon, because i live in the middle of nowhere and the internet i have at the moment is terrible.
I read somewhere that satellite internet is not very good for online gaming as supposably there is going to be a high ping.
The games i play online are different RTS titles, some RPGs and some World of Tanks. My firends are also pushing me to start playing League of Legends.

The internet i have now works about 50% of the time and the rest is either no signal or bs like 4k+ ping and download speeds of about 80kbs. And a lot of flustration.
The satellite internet it seems offers me stable connection, good dl speed but high ping.

So what should i do?

You can't do it. The ping on sat is like 2 or 3 seconds.

"Push" isnt really the correct word, "convincing" would have been better lol.
Anyway I played both and Dota probably is slightly better.

Latency shouldn't be any more than a second or so, at worst. Think of the delay on video to crew of the ISS, and it'll be similar.

Alternatives are to find someone in the area with a good link, and get them to strap on a Wifi antenna to beam their link to you. Get a couple of cheap access points that can run as a bridge, and some 14dB antennas to beam at each other. They can run over a couple of miles, over open ground.
Again, latency will be a bit worse than direct cable, but not much worse. We have links over a few miles, and they ping across our internal network at ~5-9 ms.

Well to be honest even 1s delay is unnaceptable, (1s= 1000ms).
A lot of people say you need >50ms for smooth gaming but i make due with 100-200 ms. But over that it becomes difficult.

And im getting mixed messages here, people seem to claim different delays on the satelite internet, i hear anything ranging from 200ms to 5k ms.

Your going to get different delays based on who you get it from, what kind it is and even the time of day. I know that with mine, there is a visible delay of a few seconds at worst and about half a second at best.

One is a lesser knockoff of the other. With worse monetization, locked away characters and a nonsense stat system. I wouldn't call it bs.

I wouldn't call it a nonsense stat system the AP value allows mages to hit hard from beginning to end, also you don't have to worry about some really unfun spells to encounter such as Doom in which you receive a 15 second silence, I like the recall feature as well and lol has a better

match-making system. They're both really well designed games to say otherwise is just nonsense.

This can be a problem, however, unless satellite internet providers are hugely different from most US ones, you're biggest issue is going to be monthly bandwidth limits

Ping off a satellite is going to have quite a few variables, which is why you'll see different people saying different times.

Otherwise

100-200ms lag is manageable for gaming it takes some getting used too but it isn't impossible.

I should add that since moving to Seattle my latency on dota is 3-4ms so riot can go suck it.

Edit: I was gonna do something special with my 4000th post but I forgot about it and now it too late..... feth.

I'm mainly pointing out that Dota 2 is far more user friendly game (not talking about difficulty of play, but money and extraneus stuff wise)

Also how is doom unfun? Dooming a caster is one of the funniest things on the planet. And if you can't deal with it, get a BKB. Magic immumity is a thing.

Anyway, this is a simple case of to each their own in the end.

Why is DSL or something not an option? I can't imagine being so far out in the boonies that you couldn't get a phone line.

Phone lines stretch far further than data allows.
In the UK, we are having to get government funding to help get 95% of the population up to 2Mbps. The further from the phone exchange people are, the slower and more costly the data services get.
We're having to get fibre runs laid to extend the exchange's range, and copper from the road-side boxes.
In the cramped and dense UK, this is costing a lot. In the more widespread Continent, that would cost a lot more.

Radio links are a cheap way to get around this, if there is LoS to someone you know who has a passable link. There are some villages here who are paying to get their own fibre run from the exchange, and then beaming the link out to the neighbours. These are one-off costs, on top of the shared subscription at the exchange.
