Hi all, put together a 1500 Nurgle list and looking for some C&C.

New to Chaos and Nurgle so would appreciate some helpful/friendly advice.

Typhus

7 Plague Marines: 2× plasma gun.
• Chaos Rhino
7 Plague Marines: 2× plasma gun.
• Chaos Rhino
26 Plague Zombies

Heldrake: baleflamer.
Heldrake: baleflamer.

Forgefiend - Hades Autocannon
Forgefiend - Hades Autocannon

1,500 points

Plan would be to have Typhus and plague zombies advancing up field to bog down enemy unit(s) with the forge fiends then heldrakes covering the advance and taking targets of opportunity. Plague marines hold a back field objective and a mid field objective. Once Typhus is in combat forge fiends and heldrakes provide fire support to the plague marines.

I'd drop the Icons, Fear is a fairly lacklustre mechanic, those points could be better spent elsewhere:
Possibly VotLW? since they are the only unit in your army taking leadership tests. Elsewise meltabombs / combi-melta on the champions? neither list really has anything to solidly deal with AV13-14.

Beyond that, not much advice to offer, perhaps two units of 30 zombies rather than 3 units of 20?

I like the forgefiends better. At 1500 points you should expect a flier and I think a vector strike from your drake plus some supporting ground fire should be enough to take em out. I mean, you could just give your drake a hades cannon but I know most people think that's heresy against the dark gods.

I'd take melta guns on the plague marines instead of plasma. Need some form of dedicated Anti-tank somewhere!

The North

Maulerfiends with stock magma cutters will have x3 Powerfist attacks (x4 on charge) and the additional magma cutter hits (up to two S8 AP1 Armourbane auto-hits) which is often more than enough to deal with AV13/14. With three of them sporting IWND, 5++ and Daemonforge along with their speed it should make for an entertaining first couple of rounds.

By the time the slow zombies and plagues have plodded up to where the maulers got to, the heavy armour will have been crumped by angry dino-bots. Heldrakes may require a hades autocannon on one of them, but they do have vector strike that has its uses.

I second the icons being useless. Unless there's a lot of non-marine players in your area, those icons will eat points. I'd swap those out for combi-meltas for the rhinos since they cost the same and a little extra melta never hurt the good guys.

I'd also suggest dropping one of the Maulerfiends for either a lascannon/heavy bolter Predator or 4 autocannon havocs. The Predator's AV13 will be stubborn as frozen nurglings and str 9 hits are always useful. Those havocs are incredible dakka for the points and will give you a lot more versatility for picking off hordes early and can help the drake pluck flyers out of the sky.

Typhus is always a solid choice because copious fearless wounds are useful, especially with two angry dinobots tearing it up. Dirge casters on the rhinos are also a great option to save a Maulerfiend hull point or Plague Marine an embarrassing die roll or two.

If you want the icon, just use the Crimson Slaughter; all units have fear, but no VoTLW. Mauler Fiends just don't cut it for their points and are huge fire magnets; a LR with LasCannons will tear them apart before they get close. I like the Forge Fiends better, as 8 STR 8 shots are nice, and can take down fliers reasonably well.

thanks for the input chaps, taking into account alot of the suggestions i have revised (yet again) the list.

this is off the top of my head as i don't have my ipad or codex with me at the moment but is as follows:

I have yes but as good as they are I'm just not a massive fan of bikes in general.

I'm not a massively competitive player and just generally enjoy playing the game for what it is and therefore generally tend to like playing with what I like the look of.

I've never been a fan of Melta-bombs. You'd be better off adding a Combi weapon on one of the Death Guard sergeants. An extra Melta or plasma, whichever is preferred. I'd also magnetize the Heldrake so you can tailor the autocannon or baleflamer depending on what is being played on the opponent's side. The Flamer is great, sure, but the autocannon is a great piece of anti air.
