Hey all, so I've long had an affinity for the sky talon -- the Valkyrie variant that can carry in two drop sentinels or a tauros/venerator -- and I've long wanted to incorporate one into my IG/AM force. It's not because I think they are particularly competitive or anything, I just think they're cool and quirky and would add some character to my force.

Here's my question : the Sky Talon is available in IA Aeronautica for IG and says they can carry drop sentinels or a tauros/venerator, but I've only found those vehicles listed in the IA Vol3 as a part of the Elysian army list. Does that mean that you can only take an empty Sky Talon if you don't have an Elysian detachment?

I don't have all the IA books so they may all be together somewhere else, and sorry if this question has come up before.

IA 4 has the most up to date d99 list, and nothing in there lets you take venators etc outside of this list

IA volume 8 allows for Tauros/Venators to be taken in an AM army as a Fast Attack Choice

IA4 rules are only for D-99 models (they have increased stats) so I don't think you can use those rules, even though they are the most recent.

Perhaps using the IA3 rules/points cost but justifying their inclusion using the IA8 army list would be the fairest way of playing them

BANG!!!

Commissar: "Anymore questions?"

According to IA1 (2nd ed).

A Drop Sentinel Squadron is a Fast Attack choice for a Codex: Imperial Guard army.

A Tauros squadron is a Fast Attack choice for a Codex: Imperial Guard army.

Of course, there is no longer such a thing as a Codex: Imperial Guard army.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Ah, I've found the entries in IA 8 now. Looks like venerators but no drop sentinels without Elysians, well I guess that's okay. Thanks for all the help!

Did you read my post at all?
