Im trying to see if there are any useful passengers other that burna meks for the "nauts". A min unit of tankbustas +3 bomb squigs is 80 pts.
Nuat of your choice moves & diembarks tank bustas in front to the side, they shoot 5 tank hunting rokkits and 3 2+ hitting tank busting squigs to pop tank and the naught shoots and charges the passengers or finishes off said tank. Next turn tank bustas die to shooting or live and try to cause more mayhem.

It sounds like fun but the question is , is it worth it?

in theory a shooting unit is best in the naut outside the mek shenanigan units, but problem is were orks. None of our guns outside Mek Gunz are any good unless massed, even tankbustas. Only reason buggies or deffkoptas work with low numbers is because theyre twinlinked.

still wish the damn thing had Assault so i could use it to deliver a manz missile

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Tank bustaz are 24" range, so there is little reason to put them in the naut.

Also keep in mind that a transport may not move, disembark and move again, including charging. This pretty much makes any kind of passengers useless.

IMO the transport capacity of the naut is a trap. Anything put in there will be a waste of points. It might come in handy to protect a unit from annihilation in late-game, but I wouldn't start anything in it.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

I missed that part, that kind of makes the whole idea pointless.

Burnas and meks are the only decent thing to put in a naut

They stop being decent when you realize that you're upgrading a 300 point model with an 80 point unit which does nothing most of the time, and causes around 15 S4 hits at best.

I think the whole unit is a trap. 245pts sounds great for 3d6 st ap5 shots + 2 tl big shootas + 2 rokkit launchas. Until you do some quick maths and realise that its only about 7 st5 hits and 2/3's of a st8 hit. Which is pants. I mean a heavy bolter devestator squad which is universally considered bad at shooting gets 8 st5 hits on average, and at ap4.
Yeh its got assault capabilities... but has a movement of 6" if you are going to shoot anything. Also 5 st10 I2 attacks is nothing to shout out about at 265pts (with riggers), not when you can get an ork nob in a boyz unit hitting with 4 st 9 I1 attacks for 224pts less.
Rampage is good and IWND is good for 20pts.

The Morkanaut is also poor at shooting for its points, again about 3 st5 hits, 2/3's of a st8 hit and probably averaging 1 st8 plasma shot.
It doesn't even get rampage in assault.
The 5+ IWND for 20pts is good but KFF for 50pts seems a waste unless you are running a dread heavy list or building a list around that 5++.

Worst of all they take up the much needed heavy slots.

Look at the Salamanders dread for around the same price and it is no comparison.

No, they just corrected a copy&past error in the summary.

Wait, doesn't firing a bomb squig remove three of the rocket shots anyway? I thought an ork could fire either his rokkit, or the bomb squig, since it's a shooting attack. Am I reading this wrong?
