** Update (08/26/14) **

One of my friends asked to see a version of ArtScale_ver9 with a GW helmet on.
Here you go:

I think I'm about finished with this iteration now.
I hope to release Ver10 soon (stay tuned)!
And to reiterate: you can print/download/modify the model for yourself at:
https://www.shapeways.com/model/2352794/artscale-ver9-print.html?li=aeTabs
Using a (free!) software package such as Blender, you can easily make your own Figs

** Update (08/21/14) **

In response to some questions, I've taken some more pictures.
My goal was to make the Marine seem imposing next to a standard trooper (in this case a Mantic Enforcer).
I used the rough guide of "more than a head taller than a mortal soldier" which I vaguely remember from some of the black library fiction.
First, a few comparison shots:

Note that the shoulderpads, helmet, gun and backpack are all quite close in size to the GW marine.
You should be able to swap these parts if you want to create your own conversions.
The torso of the ArtScale_ver9 is slightly larger than the GW torso; particularly the bottom of the torso, which fits onto a much larger set of hips.

Others asked me whether or not this was scratchbuilt.
I suppose so: I created the 3d file in blender, and then printed it out using shapeways.
I made the 3d model from scratch, so perhaps this counts as scratchbuilt?
The Shapeways print (Frosted Ultra Detail) cost about $28.00, and was shipped to my house in about a week.
The 3dprint came in the mail looking like this:

There was practically no cleanup required (a little scraping, and maybe a little sanding).
If any of you want to, you can order it on shapeways as well.
The source file (stl format) is free to download/modify.
The link is given below (at the end of the original post)

** Original Post follows **

Here's a Reviler I painted.
He stands about 42mm tall, which fits in well with 32-35mm "mortal" figures (e.g., mantic corporation).

Do you have any suggestions or comments?

For example: My brother mentioned that, although the armor is somewhat realistic (see fig B below), the helmet is rather stylized, with eye-slits and grills that wouldn't quite match up with a human head. Would it be preferable to have a more realistic/larger helmet?
I wasn't sure if this was necessary, as astartes are sometimes referred to as having a "broad" almost "equine" physiognomy that is markedly different from un-enhanced humans.

Thanks for the feedback!
- Adi.

Here is the "human body" inside the armor, for comparison:

P.S.,
If you like you can download/update/print the current version of the file at:
https://www.shapeways.com/model/2352794/artscale-ver9-print.html?li=aeTabs

If you choose to print it, make sure to use "frosted ultra detail" as material. "white detail", despite its advertised resolution, doesn't quite capture the rivets/ridges/etc. on the model.

One of the best true scales I've seen yet. A couple suggestions, I feel like the shoulder pads need to be a little more pronounced. Beefy shoulder pads are a bit of a staple for the space marine image. Also the armor in general is a little bland, some decorations like trophies on his chest or hanging from his waist would look good. If that's sculpted, some details would be no problem for you. Awesome work all around though, smooth paint job.

do you have a comparison shot to a normal SM? Looks pretty good but as above, needs the aquila on the chest and maybe bigger shoulder pads to look more like a SM

I have half a mind to kill you, and the other half agrees

Thanks for the suggestions!
I deliberately made this prototype model "bling free" so that it could later be converted to fit in with a variety of chapters.
However, as you mention, there are several either common or modular pieces of flair that are pretty typical across chapters.
I'll make sure the next version has an aquila on the chest, maybe an extra skull or two (there's one on the backpack now, if you check out the 3d model) as well as a modular bandolier of grenades.
I'll also try and make a few extra beefier shoulder pads (e.g., deathwatch, ultramarines, black legion).
Perhaps also a bunch of different helmets (e.g., I'm eager to make an iron-warrior's style knight helm).

I think a friend said it best:

This is both great work and an awesome service to the community, both in terms of giving away the art, and in showing what is possible with the technology of the day.

I would like to add that I think it is time for GW to let the Space Marines grow in stature. Legacy shouldn't mean that the space marines should start to look up at all of the other armies. Even just changing the bottom half would go a long way.
