Hey guys!

I'm trying to paint a warlock with purple eyes but am getting hung up on the highlights. When I try adding white to the mix (because I don't know what else to use) I get this really weak lilac color that looks closer to white than anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions for painting purples that will stand out?

Cheers

try highlight in blue, if you look at the colour wheel and highlight with brighter color on the wheel you will avoid a washed out look.

its why orange is a good highlight for red and yellow is a good highlight for green.

Red would probably also work. Try it out in your pallette so you don't put too many layers of paint building up.

you could try, using a sort of pre shading, so basecoat lightish grey, then apply the highlight with white, then use a purple wash over the top. might work..dunno? haha
