Well, I'm exited about the new release of the GK codex.
Here is a straightforward list that I want to try out.

Librarian - 110
Librarian - 110

5 Terminators w/ psycannon, halberd (x3), daemon hammer - 201
5 Terminators w/ psycannon, halberd (x3), daemon hammer - 201
5 Terminators w/ psycannon, halberd (x3), daemon hammer - 201

10 Interceptors w/ incinerator (x2), daemon hammer (x2), halberd (x6) - 282
10 Interceptors w/ incinerator (x2), daemon hammer (x2), halberd (x6) - 282

Dreadknight w/ teleporter, heavy incinerator - 180
Dreadknight w/ teleporter, heavy incinerator - 180

Total: 1747 pts.

Thoughts?

The Librarians go for the sanctic powers.

I hate the new halberds. scrapping all of them will allow you to give both NDK's swords as well as giving you the points for a coms relay. this allow you to field the new detachment a lot more reliably as well as defining the roles for your NDKs. (KO'ing other MCs or thrashing min/max obsec units hopping around the midfield/your deployment zone)

It will also allow you to really play a great Maelstrom game. up to 5 units teleporting in on objectives T1, with another 2-4 units shunting around for even more shananegans.

If you prefer to have Obsec Terminators, then that's fine, too. You'll have to play a lot more risky with your interceptors T1 to cover up objectives until those terminators start dropping in T2+.

You do have gaping holes vs. fliers, av13, and av14 though. Those NDKs can't be everywhere vs. armor and you don't have high STR, high rate of fire weopons for the fliers.

Seems ok, but I fear that this list falls off really hard come turn 4-5.

I don't think pure GKs work at all anymore. Absolutely ANY mechanized force will just laugh that off.

Ran almost this exact list

Would have worked really well too, if I hadnt rolled 1s on the deep striking stuff on turn 1

Which is the biggest drawback about that formation

I really think a Comms relay is important for the GK formation.

Aftermath can be calculated.

I'm toying around with something similar. Main issues I'm running into:

Flyers... Good luck there.

Comms relay is very important there as well. One IG advisor or bad WL trait will bite you in the ass... hard.

Maybe scratch one interceptor squad (2 of those feels a bit redundant at 10 men anyway, given high points cost and "niche" roll) to get a skyshield landing pad in with comms relay? you can still consolidate on the pad afterwards for your shunts or start the game there if it's a rushing hore?

Also, if you find a few points, upgrading to ML3 for the libbies almost seems too good to pass up on. Especially for a mere 50p.

Thanks for the inputs. All useful.

Here is a modified list: One Interceptor squad has been replaced by two Rifleman Dreads in order to tackle the flyer issue.

Librarian - 110
Librarian - 110

5 Terminators w/ psycannon, halberd (x2), daemon hammer - 199
5 Terminators w/ psycannon, halberd (x2), daemon hammer - 199
5 Terminators w/ psycannon, halberd (x2), daemon hammer - 199

Dreadnought w/ tl autocannon (x2) - 145
Dreadnought w/ tl autocannon (x2) - 145

10 Interceptors w/ incinerator (x2), daemon hammer (x2), halberd (x6) - 282

Dreadknight w/ teleporter, heavy incinerator - 180
Dreadknight w/ teleporter, heavy incinerator - 180

Total: 1749 pts.

At the 1850 pt level, I'd consider a landing pad or a comm relay.

That Interceptor squad should be 292 points, not 282.

Starting to look really nice... At this point mark, I'd even consider dropping 1 terminator squad to get that landing pad in though. Especially if you are going to run 2 dakka dreads... That's 3++ on the shield with their sanctuary.

It should also free up a bit of points to fill that 10 point boo-boo that was mentioned and allow you to upgrade both libbies to lvl 3s AND give them a daemonhammers/stormbolters (waaaaaay more usefull than the warding save if you ask me).

That would give you a pretty tough firebase, reliable deepstrikes for Turn 1 AND still allow up to 5 shunts (6 if you combat squad the interceptors). Or, if your points allow it, get 2 individual interceptor squads, both with a justicar to slap the hammer on.

I'd be interested in hearing how these 2 lists play. I have a feeling that the 2 dreadnaughts won't be that useful against flyers and that you may be better of with the first list and living with the fact that you won't be killing any fliers. This is where the lose of psybolts really hurt us the most.

Looking at the latest list. Drop all the Halberds. Interceptors only have 1 attack, Halberds Don't make them combat effective you need Falcions for that.

Why take more than 1 troops choice in this detachment? Paladins get you more wounds and Psycannons per point. I would swap them.

What is the point of those Dreads? They are bringing almost nothing to the table for the 145 points they are. Given you can twinlink a Paladin squad with a Libby for the same AA power as both Dreads put together.

Dreadknights want heavy Psycannons. Again prescience on them makes them more effective AA than a Dread. Though with list you needn't be scared by flyers as you are largely not bothered by them (if anything the Dreads add a good target for many flyers) and can play shot denial (something again the Dreads work against this).

Not sure you need 2 libbies, the only reason to take a second is for more prescience to deal with flyers but I think the list needs bodies and weapons before that.

Landing Pads can not be upgraded to have a Comms Relay.
