I think this is brilliant. I love how they are founding of the salamanders (my chapter). I like it all the way around.

You should start fleshing out the chapter now. Who is their chapter master? How does their organization work? Is it like the salamanders or is it more codex?

Thanks! I had a blast writing it, and I do definitely want to go into more detail, I just wanted to see what others thought of the background before continuing. Salamanders are my favorite "original" chapter, as I like their connection to humanity, and promoting equality between astartes and "regular" humans. I definitely want to extol that in my chapter. As far as organization,

I am thinking they'll have a focus on fast attack and heavy support (combining white scars and maybe imperial fists ideology). They are first responders but are also meant to maintain their conquests and hold their ground for long periods of time.

As far as the size of their chapter, I kind of wanted a middle-ground. I was thinking of having the chapter be 10 companies per codex standard, but perhaps having them tend to split into two five company forces in order to launch multiple endeavors and to coordinate with multiple long-term engagements as would be required in an expedition force. Maybe one subset to defend their conquests and form a solar system wide perimeter, while the remaining 5 were the spearhead of the expeditions expansion
