So I'm new to Infinity, and have had a very hard time picking an army to play. I've finally narrowed it down to this vanilla Haqqislam list and would like some feedback from more experienced players. (I know Khawarijs isn't spectacular, but the model is stunning, and I'm not one to proxy).

Thanks.

What's the list going to be used for? Is it just for 'kill stuff' type missions or would you be using it for ITS missions as well?

First thing is the obvious Lt. You're not going to be able to use your Khawarij agressively because he's your Lt and as its the only Lt option in the list it will be an easy target for your opponent.

And in ITS you're relying on only a couple of specialists with 9 orders to complete the objectives.

You've got plenty of big guns though!

most likely "just for fun" games done at my house with a friend. but eventually we'll probably start playing at the FLGS.

could you recommend some changes for ITS?

i know my friend will be playing nomads, and another experienced friend currently plays ariadna.

Well i don't really play much ITS so probably not the best person to comment but most ITS lists seem to have more models so you have more orders for objective grabbing. I would consider dropping the Al Hawwa sniper for a hacker. That gives you another camo infiltrating specialist to go with the tuareg doc and the ghulam hacker as a back up if they both get taken out.

In short, an ITS mission, depending on the actual mission being played, needs around 4 troops with this speciality: Engineer, Hacker, Chain of Command, Doctor.

You only have 2 here.

You only have 8 orders, unless you forego hidden deployment for the Tuareg.

Minimum model amount for 300 points is 10. Otherwise you have too few order to actually act.

Also, I'd suggest reconsidering the Khawarij. It's an awful profile. You have to realise that even the game makers proxy and they actively encourage it, especially for weapon loadouts that have not yet been released.

My suggestion, for an ITS would be the following:

Haqqislam | 10 models
________________________________________________________

Maghariba MHMG,HGL (97|1.5)
Tuareg Doctor (34|0)
Hawwa' Hacker (33|0.5)
Najjarun Engineer (17|0)
Barid FO+Lt (17|0)
Lasiq Sniper (29|1.5)
Ghulam HMG (21|1)
Ghulam Sniper (18|0.5)
Ghulam Rifle (13|0)
Ghulam Doctor (17|0)
Nasmat (3|0)

I tried Incorporating as many of the models from the first list as possible, although from my experience, Maghriba Guard works better in missions that do not require specialists - missions such as Quadrant Control or Frontline.

I'd recommend strongly against the Mag Guard - namely because the model is old, and once you've seen the concept art of the new one (release date TBA) you'll see why I'm saying this.

That's what we're here for!

Keep in mind that there aren't too many cookie cutter lists in Infinity, so with a little effort you can make work the models you want to field, But as said, ITS required certain units and there's no going around that. There are different mission systems, sych as YAMS that you may want to look at as well.
