Can an Independent Character (read: Rune Priest) on a bike join a unit, that does not have the bike type?

I'm wanting to know if a Rune Priest on bike can join Thunderwolf Cavalry, since he can't take a TW as a mount.

Normally, the only restriction in the main rules is against joining Monstrous Creature units, a Bike can join an Infantry unit fine.

However, I believe that Thunderwolf Cavalry used to have an additional restriction. I do not know if this has been retained by the new Codex.

I'd have to give the codex another run through to see.

I can't have the rune priest running alongside. he will be a tasty, easy target.

The TWC restriction has been removed. Joina bike priest if you so wish
