With the new Psychic Phase I have no idea what goes any more. My question is if Psykers can cast their spells in CC. It doesn't seem like they would but going through the rulebook I can't find anything saying they can't even though there have been a couple instances where they could have stated.

They can cast any power except the powers that are described as shooting attacks.

Which makes it weird because they can cast Possession and turn into a Greater Daemon, and as yet I've not seen a explanation on how to deal with this.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

They can cast Maledictions and Blessings in close combat, read the paragraphs of these type of powers.

I have. It states they affect people in CC it doesn't say they can cast them.

It doesn't need to say that they can cast them. They have permission to cast powers. If some specific action is intended to stop them from being able to cast, it would need to say so.

Yeah, I'm more asking is there anything that says they can't cast in CC.

Psychic shooting attacks cannot be cast in CC because the rules state they follow the rules for standard shooting which says no.

When a psycker turns into a greater daemon, combat ends, the other side consolidates and the greater daemon enters play within 6" of the original spot. They enter via deep strike and are unable to assault that turn.

Where does it say that "the other side consolidates"?

I can not find it.

Because a combat ends.

But that combat only ends if the psyker was the only unit from its team in the combat. So if your Herald and his unit of daemons is in CC, the herald goes pop and out comes a Greater Daemon 6" away, OUT of CC. Everybody else involved in the CC stays as normal.

But if it's your Herald ALONE in CC... then when he goes pop and a Greater Daemon shows up 6" away the enemy unit is no longer locked in combat since the Herald model itself is "removed as a casualty". And when all of the enemy models in a CC are removed as casualties, the combat is ended and the remaining models consolidate.
p.53 of the Rulebook: "At the end of a combat, if a unit's opponents are all either destroyed or Falling Back... that unit may Consolidate."
