So my local GW is having a day of 500 point games to celebrate its first birthday. Almost every army is likely to be there. So here's what I came up with.

So the basic plan is to attach the lord to the CSM and put them in the rhino. They'll go charge the enemy and hopefully cause a lot of problems. The vindicator will hopefully attract fire as well as weaken the enemy before the marines assault. The cultists are for any objectives on my side of the board. Any pointers would be well received.

Definitely not using a flyer in a 500 point game. I don't like 1/5 of my army being in reserve. Plus I don't like using flyers in such low point games.

What if the opponent gets first turn and manages to destroy the rhino? Then you have 265 points on foot who will have to move/run for 2-3 turns before reaching the opponent. I would not count on a lord in a rhino in such a small game. I would instead opt for a lord on a bike, accompanied by 3 bikers or a couple of spawn for ablative wounds.
This is what i would use as a base:
435 points, leaving some for you to do whatever with.

Lord, Bike, Pfist, Sigil.
2x10 Cultists
3 Chaos Bikers
Vindicator with Siege shield.

You could add more cultists and mark of nurgle to the bikers and the lord for T6 and more bodies, or you could add more bikers, whatever you feel is appropriate.
