So i want to add mek guns to my army, I know lobbas are big , but I have tons of anti infantry fire. So I'm leaning towards traktor or regular kannons.

Flyers are not common in play group but a FMC or flyer does pop up now and then.

For 1 traktor I can get almost 2 kannons. So for over all use , traktor kannons or regular kannons ? I have 40 points to spend in my 1500 lists.

If you never see flyers or skimmerspam a kannon is better than a traktor.

If your local is anything like mine bring traktors...

As says Ascalam: in 7th, the skyfire rule includes skimmers in its list of natural preys.
So it is not just FMC & flyers , but all tau, necron and (D) eldar véhicules that get hit at full bs by the tractors.

The go-to are usually lobbas or KMK. Another option is Trakktors or a mix of 1-2 kannonz + 3-4 trakktors to keep it cheaper and get some ablative wounds in front - cause if the opponent's gona have valuable flyers you got to expect trakktors being shot at + it gives some variability on what it can damage.

Don't underestimate lobbas even if you think you've got enough anti-infantry shooting allready. Lobbas are the only thing that can shut down wyverns turn 1. And they're really devastating against infantry. Regular ork's shooting isn't that deadly.

KMK's are a great weapon also. s8 ap2 blasts work vs most ground targets. New gk alpha-strike? Make them waste their firepower on your t7 gunz or risk getting 250+ pt squads erazed. How long will you spend bashing that annoying MC? Deal 1-2 wounds with KMK and get rid of it in 1-2 turns of assault.

Face annoying flyers that ruin your games too often? New wolf-raven full of mellee madness? A battery of trakktors is what you need. Combined fire of trakktors and some rokkits that you might have rolling around will wreck almost any chosen flyer in 1 turn.

Smashas, zzaps, bubblechukkas and kannonz are usually not worth fielding, unfortunately. Kannonz are not required since there are tons of cheap rokkits anywayz and others are just too unreliable, though might occasionally be amazing.

Smashas are surprisingly good at killing vehicles. Don't get fooled by the random strength, their chance to destroy a vehicles is almost twice as high as that of a KMK.
