I tried a no farseer eldar list and I was not too pleased, so building on some advice from that thread and working with some newly released material I present

Farseer Mentok's mind taking circus:

Farseer: Jetbike/singing spear

Farseer: no upgrades

2x Dire avengers (5) WaveSerpent (scatter laser/shuri cannon, holofields, ghostwalk)

2 x Fire Dragons (5) WaveSerpent (scatter laser/shuri cannon, holofields, ghostwalk)

Warp Spiders (7)

War Walker (3) dual BL

2x Vauls Wrath 3 guns

Allied Detachment (Im calling him mind controlled by the farseer, who then goes to take more minds etc)

Culexus Assassin

Looking forward to the input from the pros, thanks in advance

im not too familiar with the culexus, do you not have to take any troops with him?

Its nice you took farseers again, but what exactly are you planning on doing with them?

As far as I know, the Assassin dataslate allows you to take a single assassin without any 'troop tax'.

I'm guessing the foot farseer goes with the vauls, but not sure on the bike one?

Yeah the foot one gets hidden in the artillery. The bike one will have the mobility to keep in psyker buff range of troops as the battle develops.

A possible modification I was thinking would be to replace the walker squad with 2 units of 3 jetbikes and 2 jetbike warlocks. I was thinking that could add some more scoring units.and a few more psyker dice/options

Do people think two squads of fire dragons would be enough av13-14 cracking that the walkers are less useful? I

Well, the psychic phase alone will you not win the game.
Three Farseers are too much and the Culexus is a gimmick.

First one is name of list.

The list looks good. scatter lasers (or a wraithknight) would have been a better choice though. Farseer on foot is a waste.

Looking good otherwise. Like the culexus, really helps out against top tier builds.

Would dropping the warwalkers to Scatter/Shuricannon, which gives the points to add a jetbike to the second farseer, would address the problem you raise?

How do you see the culexus as a gimmick? I see him as a cheap hard counter to multiple top tier lists and if the enemy has no psykers hes still an infiltrating CC beast that can shred backline/support units.

pretty sure the definition of a unit like that is a gimmick, it only works against a few armies, the armies it works against will kill it.

At no point in time are shuricannon war walkers a good unit, scatter lasers are a toss up, bright lances or sl/bl are the best and only options i would consider taking. BL for av13+ and bl/sc for transports or av12 and under.

Scatter Shuiken works well.

Also really advise you to keep culexus. Take some practice using him though, hes not an easy win button.

As a follow up Batrep: in two games one against Demons (crap list a friend wanted to try) and the other against a very competitive iron hands/space wolf pod/grav gun horror the usual suspects did their roles as one would expect. The artillery left me wondering if a pair of night spinners wouldn't have been a better choice, and the assassin did a spectacular job on the non psyker and psyker alike. He both altered movement and tactics (expected) and was able to face roll both sets of HQ's. I'd second ninjafiredragons advice on the guy.

Well, I'd opt for dual scatter lasers. More bang for the bucks.
My Eldar army usually has other ways to take on heavy armor.

On this War Walker thing; a twin linked shuri-cannon has the same number of hits on average as a scatter laser, and due to bladestorm gives 1 unsaved wound per volley on a MEQ vs .7 for the scatterlaser. TBH unless your plannign to marry a farseer to a war walker squad the math isn't on the side of ever taking dual scatterlaser WW's (Same number of hits) and kit just gets worse from there based on saves, FWIW the best MEQ/TEQ killer is shuricannon/starcannon. Scatterlasers all fire at the same time so they aren't twin linked (if you can show me where I'm wrong I'd be pretty excited mind you), just 8 shots at BS 4. Many people express opinions, but Excel tells us the truth...

As to the assassin guy, try him out, I think your stuck in a mental box because you just see a psyker killer- not a really cheap melee monster than you can always give 3 farseer dice to to drop 3 5/1 shots in the psychic phase, then unleash a melee monster the equivalent of big time HQ choices for 1/2 the cost. He's genuinely lol inducing on grav gun units (6 to hit, 6 to wound) which seem to be gaining traction in the current meta.

Shu Cannon is bad thing for WW's due to it's shorter range. War Walkers are paper thin and want to stay as far away as possible. You could also take Scatter/Star combo.
