Any ideas for a dark eldar 500 point army? I hope to build up to a five thousand point (X10). All answers greatly appreciated.

4 Trueborn with 4 Blasters in a Venom with Night shields and 2 Splinter Cannons (Haemon goes here)

5 Kabalites with 1 shredder in a Venom with 2 cannons and night shields

= 483pts, 17pts left for haemon gear.
Fun, dirty army. Eats MC and massed infantry up. The blasterborn will wreck any vehicles they get in range of. TEQ too unless the have thunder shields, which shouldn't happen at 500pts.
Abuse the night shields, shoot from max distance possible.

2x ravager, 2x venom, 5 warriors, 4 wracks and a haemo.

That's a pretty bad list TBH. I would laugh at you if you took a list like this because you have spent so many points on units that you have no insurance will come in until turn 4. Add that to the fact your Warlord and First Blood as well as Line Breaker points are being given away like candy, i don't see how this list would accomplish much. All the Dark Eldar player has to do is Turbo boost his entire army into your deployment zone turn 2, then kill of 20 T3 6+ guys and a single 2W T4 3+ guy to win. On the other hand, the Heldrakes cannot even target the Dark Eldar other then with a single Vector Strike each due to having to fly over them.

I agree with Alex on this one, theonlyxaso. I think the dark eldar getting first turn would be a guaranteed tabling for you if you try to endure two turns of shooting with those units on the table. The venoms alone will average 12 dead cultists a turn and likely force them both to break and that doesn't count the passengers yet. Even if you got first turn, it wouldn't be that unlikely for him to wipe you out in one turn and you'd still have to worry about reserves showing up.

Heldrakes have Hover. Really though, this guy clearly isn't a nice guy for 1) Taking two Heldrakes in a 500 point game (any flyer is a dick move really) and 2) Boasting about it in some random thread.

@OP As stated, Venoms and Ravagers are pretty safe bets to start an Dark Eldar army (I play Tyranids and utterly despise Venom Spam )

Reaver Jetbikes are also pretty neat addition to a Dark Eldar army as you up the points level, they are incredibly fast to collect objectives and have auto S4 D3 hits per model simply for flying over (which with a 36 inch Turbo-boost, you will more than likely achieve).

Get some Mandrakes too (but to use as proxie, fantastic looking models but are one of the worst units in the codex and are outclassed by pretty much everything )

Man, the Dark Eldar do have must-takes right?

are you serious? he kills your infantry in 2 turns.. how do you secure any objectives? he flies under those chickens (which have to move 12 and turn 90 FIRST) and looses maybe if he's unlucky 250 points then you fly off the board he wins

btw.. it's a good DE list.. the eldar version I like is

10 Guardians with Bright lance platform
10 storm guardians with 2 fusion guns
both in wave serpents with scatter lasers and an autarch with fusion gun who goes with the stormies.. I think it makes 500 points if you're really REALLY cheap.. it's been a while.. the bright lance might be my imagination ^^ too tired to check
