I have noticed that Necrons have a few options for removing models from the game without any saves.

Time's Arrow on a C'tan
Tesseract Labyrinth on Overlords and lords
Transdimensional Beamer on Orikan

I was wondering what people's thoughts were on making this a 'theme' for a Necron army and how effective it may be. It seems a bit unreliable to me but when the whole army can do it would it be more reliable.

All over the place

Thats a whole lot of points to throw into your royal courts that could be spent on far more reliable methods of killing. Could be fun for a themed casual list though

OK I thought up a single CAD version. I think this would be a fun theme. Didn't bother with lords or Orikan because it seemed too wasteful.

What does this achieve?
Making Characteristics tests are done at unmodified stats, are they not? (unless I'm just thinking of a Sweeping Advance)

They do not state they are done against unmodified characteristics. It states they are done against the models profile. Some people say this is the same thing, but that doesn't really make sense, because it would imply, for example, that wounds tests should be done against the original number of wounds the model has, and not the remaining number.

Completely forgot about Monoliths portal.

Didn't realise wraiths could take T-Beamers!

I would just take a Cryptek over Obyron. significantly cheaper unless you plan on teleporting out of combat often.

Not sure what a Tomb sentinel is, i shall look it up.

Can't attach Crypteks to units of Wraiths.
Just like the Pylon-Star, it's Obyron + Phaeron or nothing.

Monoliths portal is usually forgotten because not many even use the dang thing let alone are able to get the portal shot off. Its got a really weird facing on it, that or my opponent that tried to use it had really bad perceptions on it since i was always "out of sight" lol

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Then what's the point in things that reduce leadership? Or as said above - wounds?

Anyway - its been playes that way (times arrow + whip coils) for as long as I can remember.

Tekron answered my post.
But, to be completely honest, I forget that Leadership is a Characteristic.
Like, I know it exists. I know you take Leadership Tests, but for whatever reason I just don't remember them as Characteristics tests like I do with Strength tests and such.

I don't see the relevance of Initiative to Time's Arrow. It says you resolve the Time's Arrow effect before any blows are struck. It occurs after you resolve charge distance and Hammer of Wrath etc. but before Initiative step 10.

Time's arrow is an initiative test, so you have to roll your initiative or less else be removed from play with no saves. So if in contact with whip coils, roll a 1 or die.

Ah, I see. Thank you for the correction. I thought it was a S test like the rest.
