my friend sent me a rough job of his list awhile ago, we are playing 1500 points and it is a friendly game though id still like it to be a close game but it seems like i'm going to get destroyed. What do you think?

His List (Tau)

12 Fire Warriors

6 Fire Warriors

6 Fire Warriors

3 Crisis Battlesuits each w/ plasma rifle, missile pod and shield generator

Riptide w/ ion accelerator, stimulant injector

Riptide w/ ion accelerator, stimulant injector

Hammerhead Gunship w/ submunition rounds, disruption pods, TL smart missile system and longstrike

Hammerhead Gunship w/ ion cannon, disruption pods, TL smart missile system

3 Broadside Battlesuits w/ TL high yield missile pods and 6 missile drones

My List (Eldar)

HQ
Avatar w/fast shot and crushing blow
Farseer on Jet Bike w/singing spear

Troops
6 Dire Avengers
3 Jet Bikes
3 Jet Bikes
6 Jet Bikes w/cannons
6 Jet Bikes w/cannons

Dedicated Transport
Wave Serpent w/ TL scatter lasers, Shuriken Cannon

Heavy Support
Wraithknight w/suncannon, Scattershield and scatter laser
Wraithlord w/ Bright lance, Bright lance, Flamer, Ghostglaive
Wraithlord w/Scatter Laser, Scatter Laser, Flamer, Ghostglaive

My list is a bit more developed. Anyway i was just unsure what to do with my army. I think that the jetbikes and dire avengers could take out all the fire warriors but the wraithknight, 2 wraithlords, wave serpent and avatar probably couldn't handle all the rest of his tau guys. I might be wrong but 2 Riptides is going to hurt plus those hammerheads and broadsides. any suggestions on what to do?

2 things that can help against riptides:
1. Multicharging riptide + fire warriors, kill 3 warriors and then sweeping advance the riptide.
2. Psychic scream the riptides

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Does he have a buffmander too? (goes with the broadsides probably), if so run your wraith knight up into combat with that blob ASAP as i will criple his damage. Consider swaping the 2 wraithlords for another wraithknight as the 12" move and good combat ability (compared to Tau) will do wonders.

Well, he's short of markerlights, so your jetbikes will be relatively safe (they'll get their jink save)

You've got a bunch of T8 wounds, which tau struggle against. Get your Knight putting pressure on the Riptides, use him to corral them into combat. Get the Knight shooting at the big fire warrior squad, of crisis squad as he jumps up the table. Or take out the missile drones with him. But makes sure he gets combat on a riptide, it's your best bet at killing them.

Use the Str8 you have on Broadsides when you can. (ie, shoot them until missile drones are gone, then you can ID the broadsides with Str8).

You can largely ignore the railhead. It may do a HP on your serpent (keep your shield up as much as you can), or a wound per turn on a Wrait-something. Target the ionhead first.

A good addition would be some warlocks for the larger bike squads. Getting conceal off makes a 2+ jink save, and VERY survivable against such a Tau list. This means they are going to be able to make combat with numbers left. Don't be afraid to charge things, with the exception of the riptide. All it takes is one lost combat, failed morale check, and you wipe the unit.

Your avatar isn't going to last long i'm afraid. He's pretty vulnerable to S7 shooting, and this guy has quite a bit of it. If you roll your farseer on telepathy, you can make him invisible. Suddenly he'll be much more resilient.

Swap the dual scatter lasers on the one wraith Lord for dual star cannons. The quality strength 6 vs massed str 6 will serve you better against riptides. Especially because he uses stimulus injectors. Not boosted, the scatter lasers will fail to wound (through saves) 74% of the time, vs 36.5% for star canons.

I think your weakest link is the avatar. It's big, slow, expensive, and doesn't shoot that well (Melta is nice, don't get me wrong, but it's not a shooty model). Consider some warp spiders? They have the strength and pseudo rending to challenge a rip tide and can drop behind tau vehicles to light them up.

Tactically, the riptides aren't that bad for you, you have a fast, highly mobile list. The pie plates aren't as devastating. I agree with how Belly is telling you to use your knight and to focus down the broadsides. Bring the serpent and wraiths in range of his fire warriors first (as they can't hurt them that badly) then pounce with the jet bikes (don't cross his 15 inch radius until you can bring 9-12 bikes to bear on one squad).
