!!Goffik Rocker!!

Hey! I have an upcoming ~750-850 game. I'm gona have a footslogging 'eavy armored boss, a painboss, 30 choppaboyz, 20 shootaboyz backed with 5 big gunz spread in 2-3 smaller squads (have just made them myself using plastic clay - modelled them all to look like lobbas but the opponent will be fine if i proxy them as any big gun, so, i'm thinking of 3 lobbas, KMK and ZZAP for fun) and that's all the things i'm gona field 100%. If there are gona be leftover points, i'll go with a squad of grots or will just live them to man the gunz cause i actually don't have enough grot models for both manning 5 gunz and forming a squad but have some ig ccs guyz that will be fine with helping out da grots fire dose fings...otherwise da boss ain't gona be happy with da umiez and ye don't want to make da boss not happy!

Thus said, i really like the fluff of blood axes! And they're one of the orkses who field kommandoes quite often. But i still can't figure a way to use commandoes offensively with any decent effect other than Snikrot formation which obviously won't fit in such low pt games. What i was actually thinking of is a small squad of 5-6 kommandoes with 2 rokkits or bigshootas infiltrating cover close to the desolate point in no man's land. So, Dakka, what are your thoughts about such use of kommandoes? Would you rather go with bigshootas or rokkits? Would you prefer to outflank them? What's the optimal size for such mission? Would you bother to take a nob for better chances with the mob rule?

Two rokkits are much more likely to shift something than big shootaz, so there's your answer.

If you manage to infiltrate them in a ruin with 24" of your enemy, those rokkits are going to annoy your opponent all day long, while the can go to ground for 2+ cover.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

The +2 cover save is only for one turn. Then its +1..and that's only with snikrot... but you really think 2 bs2, rokkits are going to be a deterrent in any way?? I'd rather then burnas for the power weapon option I. Assault...especially if in not taking snikrot.

You get 4+ cover from a ruin, stealth and going to ground improves that to 2+.

He is thinking about running 5-6 komandoz, the only thing that they are going to kill in combat is themselves. Obviously, there are better things to do with those points, but that wasn't his question.

Double burna delivery wagon with Snikrot.

Hit a ruin if you can and clear that mother right out. Then next turn threaten to assault something and yoive got 6 shiny power weapon attacks.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"
