Okay, bear in mind I have neither the cs codex nor a 7th ed rulebook yet. According to my friend malefic daemonology has the risk of causing perils on any double unless the caster is a daemon. Now prophet of the voices makes a character a daemon apparently, so does that make him immune to this negative effect?

Prophet gives him the Daemon special rule, psykers with the Daemon special rule do not peril on any double. So yeah, you're good.
