I am interested in getting a big mek for my Ork army but it seems the old Big Mek model with the KFF on it isn't in the store anymore. What would be the best way to sort of make my own?

A back-mounted KFF comes in the MegaNobz kit, if you have some spare cash or were planning on fielding non-KFF MegaNobz.

Other than that, it's a matter of rummaging through your bits box looking for electrode-ish thingies (which is pretty much how meks build their KFFs anyway ) Tau and Necron bits are likely candidates. So long as it looks like a cobbled-together mysterious pile of electronics and not a weapon, you'll be fine.

I used tau gun bits a console from some vehicle and guitar string. just root through your bitz box and cobble stuff together. Thats the best thing about playing orks..... actually thanks to the new codex its the only good thing about playing orks.
