This is a mini I painted up fairly recently. She is the plastic version of One Shot from Relic Knights.

Don't know that there's a whole lot else to say, so here are a pic:

how was this kit???
easy to assemble, with nice detail???
is it restic, or proper plastic???
i am still debating if i should grab the original metal kit, or this plastic one...

where is Fritz???

was this a commission, or are you collecting Black Diamond???
i'm really liking the look of the BD minis...

final question, can we get some more angles???

thanks...
i'm really curious about the direction of the new line, as a fan of metal minis, and a restic hater...

cheers

This is the plastic mini. The biggest change from the resin/metal kit is the ankles are filled in to be sturdier (the resin kits aren't super sturdy for gameplay).

It also seems like they increased the scale just a little with the newer minis- a lot of the sculpts that weren't made in metal are larger than the other ones. Black Diamond didn't have much in the way of scale problems because One Shot here is the only one that was made before the Kickstarter.

Cleaning wasn't too much trouble, and the assembly went together super easy (I just use superglue).

The detail came out well- I think that PVC plastic meshes well with Sodapop's style. PVC does have it's problems, but this is a situation where I think the material is being used right.

This was part of a commission for a larger force. I didn't get photos of all of them, though, and I think I had one other angle, but I'm not sure what I did with the picture.

But, I do have quite a few Black Diamond minis of my own. The truth is, I have a little of every faction for Relic Knights. I don't get to paint them all because my wife wants to paint a lot of them too.

thanks for the answers...

i think that this may end up being my first PVC mini...
i'm a huge fan of Soda Pop's style, and have had my eye on One-shot for a few years...

Looking very nice, shame you don't have pics of the other Black Diamond minis.

Its nice to see the plastic version painted up, has eased some of my worries. I've ordered a starter set and was hoping it wasn't going to be badly cast after some of the stories I've seen on the net.

I haven't had any troubles with the casting from Sodapop. Really, the only issue with their minis I've had is the scale change (and I've seen 100% of the BD minis and it isn't an issue there).

For casting mediums, I feel like there's a lot of give and take, and that's especially true of plastics. I think Sodapop has the right medium for their style.

Its like the Bombardier Bombshell and Sci-Fi had a very naughty cousin.

It's fantastic.

A number of Relic Knights minis fit that description.

From the Kickstarter, she has an alternate pose- and I think I'll use that on the next one that I do. I'm pretty sure she'll look great.
