Hi guys,

Just want to check on whether I could field a legit tournament army with the models I have.

I recently received a secondhand Mage Hunter Strike Force unit with 9 models. I also received a pEiryss model with no card. Given that MHSF models and pEiryss look similar and have the same weapons (ie. crossbow and sword) could she be a feasible replacement for the missing MHSF model?

Also, I received a Phoenix / Manticore / Hydra kit which only has one of the Phoenix / Manticore arms. Could I feasibly use the Hydra arms but have all of the other pieces for the Phoenix ie. sword, head, and the shoulder attachments as an acceptable modification? - my understanding based on the Steamroller 2014 rules is that this would be ok as the recognisable parts of the Phoenix are still there.

For the most part I wont have an issue as I play a lot casually and under 50 points I dont need a full second unit of MHSF but just want to check on whether this kind of thing is allowed. Or is it at the discretion of the TO?

Cheers.

The usual response, and the best one, is 'check with your TO'. We could say 'yes yes no' or whatever to your questions, but in the end we are just voices on the internet, while the TO controls the tournie.

As to your questions,

MHA/Eiryss Question

Probably not. Eiryss is very recognisable as Eiryss, and could make opponents who are new to the game and under the pressure of the clock panic about her being there, when she is actually just a MHSF. Personally I'd be fine, but personally I let my opponents run whatever they want at any time, but its not players like me that TOs and PP need to cater for with rules about proxying.

Phoenix question

Depends. If you have the correct weaponry, head, shoulders, etc etc (back ornaments too? Or is that just Imperatus, I forget), then it should be fine. The arm being ever so slightly different shouldn't matter. If you try and leave the Banshee little sword in its hand, then people could well get confused and think it is a banshee/Imperatus. But if you keep the armaments the same, yeah. Probably ok. Ask the TO.

So yeah, those are just my opinions. As I said a whole bunch of times and you are probably sick of hearing, do check with the TO still.

Also, where in Aus are you from/do you play? Brisbane by any chance?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Cool, thanks for that.

I realise that it's up to the TO but wanted to check if it is something that "may" pass rather than rocking up with a list that would be rejected. I'll probably just get another mage hunter from the spare parts store anyway. Unfortunately cant do that with the Phoenix arm.

I'm in Coffs Harbour NSW but could make it up to BNE for an event or something. My family is up there.

Well the Phoenix arm is the one most likely to be fine
