If you're running Inquisition as your primary, do you need Coteaz or will any inquisitor work to make henchmen troops?

Are you using the Inquisition data slate? If so check out their detachment rules - a) you have no troops and b) you dont need them in any case

If youre talking about the 5th edition GK codex, then to get henchman as troops you must take Coteaz

If youre talking about the 7th edition, I'd question why youre asking this, as Inquisition doesnt feature at all

I'm using the digital Inquisition codex. It's a bit vague on using it as a primary.

How is it vague?

It has a detachment organisation, which is very clear on what is required. 1 HQ, and nothing else. Note it has NO allowance for troops

If you select your warlord from that detachment it is then your Primary detachment

So you're limited to 1 hq and 3 elite choices unless you ally with yourself?

You can take any number of detachments / formations in a bound list (some tournaments are restricting this, but the basic game is any number).

An "Allied Detachment" cannot be from the same Faction (Inquisition) as your Primary, but you can just take multiple Inquisition detachments.

(Completely unrelated note, four months or so since 7th edition and I still haven't learnt how to spell detachment correctly)

2 HQ and 3 Elites in an Inquisitorial Detachment.

Why would you want more?
It's not like the Inquisition has Fast Attacks or Heavy Support
And if you need 4+ Henchmen Warbands you only need a 25-point Inquisitor for that extra Detachment.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I want to run it just for fun. Great army for conversions.
