Is it a friendly or a grots to the walls tournament?
and how much terrain?

personally would rather see cheap storm bolter acolytes in cover over plasma, less daemon hosts or crusaders, and more jokaeros and a vehicle. Inq still can get psybolts for now so a bolterback or even the flamer one might be interesting.

Also as a back up, melta bombs on the acolytes is always nice.

Hey man, the Inquisitional Warband is something I really been meaning to try it out, our local meta has been really meaning to try out. Here's our train of thought:

Start with a Psymera - a Chimera with Psybolt, both Heavy Bolters, maybe the added Storm Bolter. I'd keep it in the back as a firebase, lots of high quality dakka. Just make sure you're ready for your opponent's Infiltrating Meltagun guy (you just have to have 2 cheap guys on the lookout during deployment, really).

Then Acolytes with Storm Bolters (as above) - they have a low BS, Storm Bolters are real cheap for them. Likewise, I may save points on armour and instead just get more, there's so much cover to use in the 4' squared with 25% covered in terrain (because there's only 25 to 50 minis on the table usually).

Then Crusaders - they're going to be the objective grabbers as they're very survivable.

Then maybe 1 to 2 Psykers as Specialist: Sniper/Poisoned - as models are their own units in Kill Team, they have a really weak Psychic Barrage, but you can pseudo-increase their S with the Sniper or Poisoned Special Rule. Note: I'd do it with Fleshbane (wounds on 2+), but the latest official rules basically deliberately outlawed that by making Fleshbane melee-only (I did abuse Psykers with Fleshbane Pie Plates in previous editions, it was pretty cool). It's a gimmick for Ork hordes, all clumped up behind a piece of cover.

But I probably will not take - Death Cult Assassins. They're too pricey and squishy on their own. They have to make it into melee by themselves, no one to soak for them. The same with Jokaero; I love what they do, but they're too expensive for it (if their posts cost was reduced by 10 points, I'd probably take them, though).

Sadly I probably won't take Daemonhosts either - though this is really, really tempting. I still probably wouldn't do it because the powers I really like are only the ranged ones, and it's too much of a gamble. But I really like this idea, it'd be so cool.

---

My only regret is I can take up to only 12 models and a ride due to RAW, with Inquisition Henchmen Warband counting as 1 Elites choice. Otherwise I'd spam Acolytes with Storm Bolters like crazy. Remember to watch out for Hordes and Vehicles. I hope you do well, I wish you success, please let us know how it goes!

Pretty much what he said. Although psykers aren't much use as Psychic Solitude means they lose their abilities (no brotherhood of psykers units!)

Daemonhosts aren't bad for their cost - as noted, it's a gamble but with two or three as seperate units one should get the right power at the right time. They're better in kill-team than in normal 40k, where the whole squad gets the wrong result.

Chimeras are great tanks in kill-team; they're just about the most powerful armoured vehicle going. That AV12 glacis plate is superb because it ignores S5 or less and renders a big chunk of enemy fighting power useless.

You might want to consider servitors. Yes, all right, you have no inquisitor so mindlock is an issue, but they're cheap, tough and well armed - and as seperate units, a mindlock failure only affects one model.

Your opponent can't ignore them because he doesn't know which ones will be functional next turn, and the'yre cheaper than a storm bolter acolyte despite having a much better gun: even if they only fire it every other turn you can't ignore a firebase of three heavy bolters in a kill-team game!
