Can't find anywhere that says artillery can't move and fire.

Can someone give me a page?

It appears they removed the rule stating that Artillery cannot fier as Snap Shots, and as such can be fired on the move.

Of course, without Relentless or SnP, this severely limits what Artillery guns can be fired.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

But why do you need relentless or SnP? I can't find where in the book that prohibits me from moving artillery and shooting normally. Are they heavy? If so, where does it state this?

Not all artillery are ordinance after all.

Check the entry for the specific gun. I cannot confirm, but I imagine that each entry is listed as "Heavy Small Blast" for things like Thunderfires, Shadow Weavers, D-cannons, meaning they cannot snap fire (due to being a blast weapon). A vibro cannon, I imagine being a heavy single shot weapon, can snap fire.

Follow up to the OP's question. Can Eldar support weapons move and fire I know the small grav platfoms have relentless do the large ones? Plus couldn't they also use battle focus? I on't have my books here at work but it got me to thinking about it.

Support weapons are not Relentless (as the 6th Ed rules still wouldn't have let them fire), so you could only fire Vibro's (as snap-shots).

Also, the support weapons themselves don't have Battle Focus, and the entire unit needs to have it to use it (see BF rule), so you could only use it once the guns were dead.

Some artillery will not be able to move and fire. I think Lobbas are an example of that. Barrage weapon = can't snap fire.

However I think a Kannon could.

The Eldar SHOULD get a FAQ adding relentless to the giant grav platform guns since the little ones have it, but RAW, they do not. Given that it's been over a year since Illic was released and there's no FAQ on his Infiltrate rule, I'm not holding my breath over it.

Note that as long as one of the weapons doesn't move, that one can be used to shoot, even if it is a blast or barrage weapon since it is not firing snap shots. One can debate whether the others can them contribute to the multiple barrage (IMO not) and of course the crew can zip around and fire their own handguns as desired.
