So I was having a game today, my Guard with an Imperial Knight vs Space Marines, and the knight ended up in combat with the Marine Captain. The Knight smashed him with Strength D and caused 3 wounds from 1 attack. So does the captain roll 3 invun saves (as 3 wounds were caused) or just 1 invun (as all the wounds came from 1 attack)? We played it as he took 3 saves but would like to know if we got that right (Didn't affect the game too much, Marines won 10-8). Thanks!

You get no saves because it was from a StrD attack. Unless they errata'd StrD to not ignore invulns anymore.

Might want to read up on 7th Ed?
They don't ignore any saves at all on a 1-5.

Had this discussion recently, RAW you have to populate the wound pool before assign wounds from what I read.

(adding on as a footnote) But they do take the ap of the weapon involved into consideration.

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case. |
