So, I want to kit bash some Ogryns with chaos parts to make some obliterators for my Mono Khorne army. Now, What exactly will make them khornate? I know the basic cliches, skulls, blood effects, and an axe of some sort. But what can I do to Ogryns short of modelling them with axes that will make them Khornate? The will be Obliterators, so having giant melee weapons won't really work.

EDIT: What if I used Ogre Kingdoms minis for this? their banners and armor actually look like World Eaters icons in some places.

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

Specific Chaos iconography for Khorne and an appropriate paint scheme will do yah. Maybe throw on some extra horns, spikes, or chains.

Khornate - relating to or orginating from Khorne. They couldn't use Khornish, as that'd bring to mind ice cream and pasties.

So, yeah, skulls, spikes, axes, blood, more skulls. Not butter, pastry with meat and vegetables in or ice cream in wafer cones.

Argh, now I want to do a Khornish chaos army just as a joke.

I do not want to know what goes into a Khornish Pastie.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Ok, I am erring toward something in the fantasy Ogre range rather than IG Ogryns just because it doesn't look hard to turn their belts into world eater icons. Maybe I could put guns onto ogre ironguts and put spikes all over them, or is it a better idea to use the Ogryns?

The beauty of Chaos is that you have a huge amount of freedom when it comes to conversion. I think you'd probably do better with fantasy range Ogre's and then add 40k or sci fi bits to them. Big guns, spikes, armor plates, etc. Make sure you get plastic models, they're a LOT easier to work with. Rather than trying to modify belts into iconography, I'd strongly advise ordering conversion bits from Forgeworld, Maxmini, etc. Khornate icons are easy enough to find and you can use plastic snips/files to remove and then replace parts that you want to be chaosy instead. That kind of stuff is fiddly as hell though, and I avoid it at all costs myself.

Ogre covered in spikes/plates, maybe with a big ass claw or something (no tentacles really for Khorne IMO) would look quite rad.

You can use the final paintjob to signify allegiance to Khorne too. Here's the how to on World Eater paint...just apply the red to primary areas and use the metallic for highlights.

Which kits in the ogre range are plastic and which ones are still metal? I don't know anything about Fantasy.
