With the new Data slates I've been playing a lot of more mechanized forces, the ability to take more than the FOC allows w/ a Murder Pack or the ability to Deep Strike with a Mayhem Pack is phenomenal in my view. There's more mechanized than ever. Depending on your locals view of Formation and how you play them it's completely feasible to have 12 AV 12s in a army and give them shrouding depending on what else you take.

I usually run either Noise Marines in Rhinos w/ Blaster Masters , or Plague Marines w/ Meltas. You have plenty of anti-tank as it is if you are playing w/ Multimeltas so anti horde an mass number is great.

Gimmick.

There is no viable Chaos build. You just hope your opponent sucks.

Depending on how people feel about dataslates you could get a pretty mean list going. Have a few helbeutes drop in, another block of 5 advance up with invisibility from a sorc or be'lakor, take a trio of maulerfiends, to rush first and draw even more fire.

The best part about this sort of list is that anything under str6 becomes completely irrelevant, and str7 won't be too helpful against that much armor.

Sure one or two dreads/helbeutes a turn can be spammed down by autocannon fire, but what do you do against almost 12 of them, most of which will be firing back and laying down a lot of hurt and almost half will be in your table half by turn two through ds or just the fact that they are fast?

I've had excellent success running mech-heavy CSM.
Loads of walkers ftw.

Yeah I don't play in tournaments often but FLGS and friendly pickup games, even against highly competitive friends, have gone well. It's like IG parking lot lists. Either your opponents have enough AT to deal with them, or you win.

Yeah I've had a lot of success w/ Mechanized. I prefer Murder packs because it's a 5 Man Walker unit that get's incredibly brutal when you buff it with a Invisibility almost to the point of unkillable but the Deep Strike Mayhem is good as well.


Backed up w/ Rhino rushing Noise Marines or Plague Marines. I've not had a lot of bad games with them at all.
