This is my second attempt at listing an Elysian army, and as someone pointed out to me I was outside Force Organisation. So here goes for a legal army...
I am planning on going back to a Throne of Skulls event once WW reopens in the new year. But because of work I have to start thinking these things early to have time to get an army ready. From my 5 wins from 5 with my Eldar this time I am going with a list more for fun (and a few great models too).
Any honest feedback would be appreciated, thanks
This list is Elysian D-99 from IA 4 2nd Ed
HQ
Solomon Lok (has a Servo Skull as standard to help with the deep striking)
TROOP
Vet Squad, Melta Gun (x5), Valkyrie, Lascannon
Vet Squad, Melta Gun (x5), Valkyrie, Lascannon
FAST ATTACK
Vulture, Punisher Gatling Cannon (for anti infantry)
2xTauros Venators with Twin-Linked Lascannons and Sky Talons dedicated Transports (for anti armour, Sky Talons do not act as a squadron so can fly off separately once they have deployed the Tauros)
2xTauros Assault Vehicles with Tauros Grenade Launchers (fantastic model... for light armour/infantry hunting, objective nabbing
ELITE
Executioner Squad, 4x Melta Gun (x5), Valkyrie, Lascannon (monster hunters....)
HEAVY SUPPORT
Sentry, Twin-Linked Lascannons (anti armour and makes up combat drop numbers)
Sentry, Twin-Linked Lascannons (as above)
FORTIFICATION
Aegis Defence Line, Comms Array (held by the sentries for reserves)
By my count I have 7 combat drops. So everything is on the table first turn except one valk and the Vulture, the Comms Array helping them on in turn 2. U also have 15 points left over and no idea what to do with them...

I like to put missile pods on my Valkyrie for anti-troop. I don't think that 1 lascannon at BS3 is worth it. Also, I have not read the D-99 rules yet but are you able to take Avengers? They are a pretty effective all-around air support and they take up a HS slot. Also, consider taking Plasma Rifles in one of your Vet squads (or the exicutioner squad) for some anti-heavy infantry. Longer range and rapid fire give you more shots for anti-heavy infantry.

Thanks for the reply. Looking for some advice....
In the D-99 List everything is Veteran. So BS4 Valkyries.... Does that change you mind at all on taking Lascannons with them?
Will consider the plasmas, not for the executioner squad (I like the idea of suiciding in front of something heavy).
Will have to look up the Avenger, but I don't think they are in IA4, I do have a lightning.... Which I can use in IA Aeronautical, but I don't think it is worth the points cost

D-99 don't have the avenger option. More importantly, D-99 gunships are just better.
Just to note; Solomon Lok doesn't have the D-99's Surgical Enhancement rule - meaning you can't chose "preferred enemy: that one species over there" as your warlord trait (unless you pick one of the sergeants as your warlord, I guess). Which is annoying because I think the Tauros get preffered enemy.
Not sure about the combat drop numbers.
By my count:
Valkyrie (infantry squad)
Valkyrie (infantry squad)
Valkyrie (execution squad)
Valkyrie Sky Talon (Tauros Venator)
Valkyrie Sky Talon (Tauros Venator)
Sentry Gun
Sentry Gun
So seven combat drop capable units, so four get to drop.
However, I don't think you get 'credit' for a unit with combat drop that starts on the board - so if you're planning on deploying those sentry guns, if I remember right, only three of five get to drop.
The list looks nice. Tauros with grenade machine guns are superb crowd control, and you have a LOT of lascannon fire - and a lot of flexible S5 fire from that Vulture. I've seen a D-99 vulture let rip at infantry before and it's not pretty.
Last comment - whilst it agrees with the rulebook at the moment, it may be worth emailling forgeworld for confirmation or waiting until the IA4 FAQ comes out - I was considering a D-99 force myself and sent in an email with a load of queries, one of which was if they got fortification slots (given the logic stated for them not having lord of war slots) and was told they shouldn't. That's not official until/unless it comes up in an FAQ, though.

Hmmm no fortification messes me up a little...
regarding the combat drop... it is numbers in your army. Not numbers in reserve.... Automatically Appended Next Post: Should also mention there is no officer of the fleet in a d-99 command squad

Why do they not have access to the Marauder as a Lord of War? I can understand them saying no titan, that makes sense. But not having a Marauder seems silly. And the lack of access to Vendettas which would fit this list perfectly and Avengers for support just seems arbitrary and silly.
Such a cool concept but so poorly executed.

It is disappointing. Not sure why the decision was made, especially to lack on vendettas when every squad starts at 5 man strong

Have just had a reply from Forgeworld, fortifications are available for all armies as described in the rule book. So good news there.
Also I have decided to switch the executioner squad for a command squad (to act as my warlord) with 4 Melta guns. I lose the Monster Hunter unit but gain preferred any zenos of my choosing instead. So fair trade. That then brings me up to the full 1,500 points....
