Generally, I tend to shy away from GW's "Put spikes on it and paint it red, then paint yourself red, then the walls of your apartment" approach to Khornate models. Exceptions exist, like Chosen of Khorne/ Berzerkers, and bloodeltters, who kind of loose effect if you don't paint them red. But what about Flesh Hounds? I want to try dark grey or black with touches of red, but then again, my herald's juggernaut is gold. I enjoy some uniformity in my army, and having black guys here, bright red guys there, all lead into battle by a gold rhinoceros is kind of the opposite of uniformity.

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

I'd go for brass collars and tail rings, as that's their one non-biological bit.

For the hound bodies, if you don't want the traditional red flesh, how about black flesh with red scales?

Combinations of red, black and brass on as many models as possible would seem the best approach to unifying your army.

something I just thought that could be a cool idea,

Have you seen those crackle effect things? where its basically something you put under a layer of paint (although it may have to be used along side airbrush painting - as thats what I saw it in).

Then when activated the layers on top of it can be crackled and sorta flaked.

What Im thinking is you could try and achieve some sort of dark red/grey flesh thats crackling to reveal like a brighter red underneath. Sorta like a magma effect.

so like this:

But im suggesting using a medium to achieve the crackle and the magnam colour to pure red rather than include the yellowy spots.
AH FOUND IT!

In the video he uses a chipping solution, im thinking you could do the same but to create a look like the flesh is perhaps like stone and underneath contains like the essence or demon hound form

Favourite Game: When your Warboss on bike wrecks 3 vehicles simply by HoW - especially when his bike is a custom monowheel.
